Introduction

The early Iron Lion before convergence . . .

 

Knowing that convergence would be a beatdown, Early Iron Lion was designed to be my most gentle Q yet . . . no coupons, stretching, light run.

Leuben didnt believe me. That hurt my feelings.

I dug up some old partner stretches that we would do later.

Warm-O-Rama

arm circles? Maybe? whatever . . . its a freaking stretch . . .

The Thang

After a countoff we jogged into the gloom . . .

I was planning on doing some partner-assisted pullups, but the bar was too slick with frost. So screw it . . . lets move on.

Bridge. DEEP lunges. The goal here is to stretch as far as you can forward, lengthening those leg muscles and limbering up.

Keep on Moseying . . .

After about half a mile we came to the parking lot by the police station.

Mosey back to the bridge

Deep side lunges. The goal is to stretch the hip muscles out as far as you can.

Mosey to pylons by the road. Working the lateral motion for running.

Pylon weaves back to the Iron Lion parking lot.

Head to the playground.

Circle up, and do a long assortment of lower body stretching exercises, including several partner-assist to get a bit further than you are comfortable with.

Circle of Trust

CoT was about . . . hell. I dont remember again. I really need to start writing these down. Speaking from the heart is cool and all . .  but if you dont do a backblast immediately you can forget. I guess thats on me though, since I didnt do the backblast right away. But that being said, I was sooooo jacked up about convergence that Im not sure I would have remembered it later that day anyway. There were quite a few new faces here to get a jump on convergence, and I feel like they really didnt get a good representation of one of my Qs. I mean, no coupons, no heavy ass things to throw, and running?!?! I think they may have gotten the wrong idea here. Speaking of, Im sure the Iron Lion guys appreciated the break from some of my Qs with this one. Stagnation is bad, so it was good to break out of my comfort zone. I mean, I know I Q run clubs and all . . . but my Qs arent this relaxed and easy. Oh well . . . onto the next Q.

Naked Man Moleskin

I was super jacked up about convergence and worried about finishing my set up in time for the convergence Q. Tough for me to focus and really hone in on the PAX for callouts . . . which again . . . is very unlike me.

Note to self . .

Self- You need step ladders now for end zone pull ups if you plan to do them again. Because that was really really slippery.

Another note to self

Self- You need to learn how to run at different paces. I currently have three speeds. On, off, and sprint. The “on” needed to be a bit slower to live up to the plan.

Last note to self-

Self- IDGAF if there is a convergence later or not . . . this needed to break more of a sweat. Notes for next time . .
