Circle of Trust

This kid’s been popping up in my instagram feed.  He earned/won or whatever valedictorian for his senior class.  He talked about how he found out he was in the running the year before and how hard he worked all year to earn it.  And he did.  Then at the senior awards ceremony, he had his moment of recognition and it was over.  Something like 10 seconds of glory.   He then talked about all the relationships and events he missed over that year when he had his nose in the books and how that was the stuff that really mattered.  The relationships and the life events.

This led me to talk about the old PE teacher at my high school. Realllllll old school type of guy.  Was at the school when it opened in the 60’s and 70’s and was still there when I was there in the 90’s.  He started every class regardless of whether it was PE or study hall with 2 days of notes.  The #1 thing in those notes was to tell us that we were put on this Earth to know, love, and serve our fellow man.

Sooooo…. get out there and serve your fellow man.  Give that complement to that person that does an everyday job.  Be the light in the darkness.  If you’re not doing that stuff you’re not doing what you were put on this Earth to do.
