The Thang
Thang #1 RAMBO: First Blood
- This Backblast will be mostly left to those who experienced it.
- In short, we ran through the woods. Nobody fell down.
- We did a bunch of Merkins, Derkins, Clerkins, Dips, Shoulder Taps, 4×4’s, Lunges, Squats, Climbed Under Logs, Curls Logs, Work Core on the Ground, and scaled two large fallen trees in the dark.
- Everyone worked hard.
- Everyone got better.
- Everyone came back.
- Mission accomplished.
We returned to the parking lot after more dive rolls and Pine Tree Shuffle to end with Mary…
- 20 American Hammers
- 20 Ukrainian Hammers (Double Time) *Respect
Circle of Trust
I asked the PAX to take 15 seconds into the 6 O’Clock AM hour to think about the word “Mission” and what it means to them.
Some shared, one caught YHC’s attention in that it means to do something greater than yourself.
I shared how to me it’s the journey to finish a goal. How it takes teamwork and focus and determination and much more. And of course, finishing. Completing the mission. Much like how Rambo would be on a mission.
And that’s where I get caught up sometimes…always working to a finish, an achievement, an accomplishment. Yet, then, in 24 or 48 hours, that feeling of accomplishment, is gone. Sometimes is just being in the moment and having a greater sense of where you are and your purpose in the moment that seems to make more sense.
I shared how today is Ash Wednesday and I would be traveling to Alabama for work today. Over the 20 years or so of my sales career I’ve often found myself alone on Ash Wednesday in a different town.
Tonight, this year, it would be Montgomery, AL alone in church again.
However, as I’ve grown older I realize I’m not alone. I’ve gone to church on these Ash Wednesdays and not only am I there with others, I’m ALWAYS with GOD or at least, GOD is always with me.
I don’t claim to be the most religious in the room however I know my mission is to have a better relationship with God. I may never fully know God, just like I may never fully know many things, however I can always know them better. There is no finishing to this mission, the mission is forever.
Prayers.
