Introduction
The excitement/anticipation to Q RC woke me up around 3:00am, thankfully I still had another hour of shut eye before jumping out of bed.
I rolled out to a cool 50 degrees so I threw on a beanie before walking out of the car at 5:04 this morning. Road Trip and Wide Right had already pulled in the lot.
A few PAX’s were running HOT yet they made it and that’s what counts.
5 core principles.

The Thang
Today’s work out was called “Trail Mix” as it involved a little bit of everything (Indian runs, sprints, moseys, running backwards, jumping, wall sits, Indian runs with the 6th going to the back of the line, sand sprints, hill sprints)
Station #1 City of Naperville parking garage
Run to end of garage jumping up to touch each pipe 4X (hold squat/wall sit for the 6th)
Run backwards until I yelled switch and then sprint back to starting point 4X (hold squat/wall sit for the 6th)
Station #2 Hotel Indigo parking garage
Run at 60% on flat level sprint on incline (floor 1)
Run at 70% on flat level sprint on incline (floor 2)
Run at 80% on flat level sprint on incline (floor 3)
Run at 90% on flat level sprint on incline (floor 4)
Run at 80 % on flat level sprint on incline (floor 5)
Run at 70 % on flat level sprint on incline (floor 6)
- Pause for an awesome pic by AFib
Mosey back to floor one, begin Indian Run (used 2 lines) headed towards next station
Station #3 Sand Volleyball courts by Centennial Beach
Sprint North to South 4X
Suicide’s South to North 1X
Ten count (Sweeney Todd)
Sprint West to East in two lines racing against a fellow PAX
Indian Run where the 6th runs to the back of the line back to the flags
Station #3 (skipped Mary) bottom of the hill (parking lot side)
Sprint to the top of the hill 4X and then AFib said let’s run that until 6:00am all PAX agreed and we threw in a couple more maybe 3 I can’t remember.
Sad we ran out of time 🙁

The life lesson’s of an HC
Today I shared my perspective on HC’s and what they mean to me (to each their own) Basically I better have a broken foot or a family emergency to miss. Have I fartsaked before for a reason other than the two I listed above, yes! Three times actually yet this is what I strive for each time I COMMIT. Excellence is the goal in all I do whether it’s my F3 Family or Life in general. I’m a believer that how we show up here is how we show up out there (world, work, family, ect). There’s been many times I have not felt like it , many times I’m running on very little sleep (2-3 hours), many times I’m lazy yet what I’m most proud of is not making a lame excuse as to why I didn’t show up. Not blaming anyone else other than myself, accepting responsibly when I screw up. When I fartsack I feel horrible most of the day. Not so much for what you all will think although that sucks too but for letting myself down, for not being a MAN of my word, that STINGS yet I take it as a lesson and use it as motivation to improve from there.
Yesterday I had an epiphany as I was thinking about today and realized how HC’s teach me many life lessons. When I break down an HC (leaving the fitness out) they teach me number one COMMITMENT, number two DISCIPLINE (showing up regardless of how I FEEL), and number three doing what I said I would do INTEGRITY. HC’s can be applied to many areas of Life not just F3 in my humble opinion. When I HC I force myself to make better decisions the day before.
Yesterday I had my parents over for dinner and delicious it was. I wanted to PIG OUT yet I choose not to because showing up for my guys today was more important to me. I wanted to give the PAX all I had. I wanted them to walk away feeling happy they HC’d.
Wrapped up with a prayer.
Naked Man Moleskin
Fanny pack Aladdin showed up today. It was my first time bringing a portable speaker. The Pax showed up as they always do. We were committed in starting together, staying together, and finishing together. OG Bob Ross was on it as he always is. It was a real treat to have him there this morning. Wide Right wore a little too many layers. Brooks was gassed as we ran towards the sand box yet Moonlight yelled some words of encouragement. Sweeney Todd showed up in his normal beast fashion. My boy Patchouli was going so hard he tweaked his leg while finishing up our last sprint in the sand box. 1 bar pushed it today and walked away a better MAN. Blow Dry embraced the suck and kept on keeping on. Road Trip was fired up the entire time. A Fib wanted to run it back by the time we were done and quite honestly I was so jacked I wanted to as well. All in all it was an AWESOME morning. I hope the feeling was mutual!
Signing off….
See you @ the TOP!
