Introduction
Man did that alarm come early. But I was excited to try out this wienke again. First time I’ve reused a weinke. But this one was special. We did it the day after bump passed away. Wanted to make it hard. Only FIB and RC finished when I did it originally. Today no one finished, but that’s ok. Flutie in short sleeves and 32dgs. Mans’ man.

This morning I know not everyone finished. As much effort and energy we put into completing this, we just simply didn’t get there. It’s weird to consider how to feel when you set out to do something and you don’t accomplish it.
I’ve faced that plenty in my life. I mean.. had I accomplished everything I set out to do I’d be leading an F3 Hawaii post right now instead of you jokers. But in all seriousness, consider the challenge of supposedly failing.
Our business culture seems to celebrate failure – as long as you tried. You see this in the entrepreneurial world alot. Talk about sports though, and trying? Forget it. Send that participation trophy back home.
It’s a confusing message for sure. Our kids grow up on this mixed message scenario, probably wondering how to make sense of it all. It reminds me though maybe winning, or trying, isn’t necessarily the point.
Sure, you want to perform with excellence, but it’s the spirit of WHY that should drive the trying, and potentially the winning. Trying and Winning – they’re actually both OUTCOMES of the WHY.
Why do you try? why work hard? why wake up at 430 in the morning to work out? Again, and again again. This may not be easy to answer. For me, I find my WHY in my God. and the act of trying, the “why” boils down to this simple phrase for me: Cause he loved me first. That’s why.
Find your why. I hope it’s as powerful as being loved first by the SkyQ. But find your why, and you’ll find that it doesn’t become about finishing or accomplishment. That’s truly winning.
