It’s been just over 10 months since I was given the “gift” of F3 by Pi. When he invited me out to the pre-launch of The Ridge last August, I weighed 290 lbs. I was fat, out of shape, tired all of the time and hadn’t worked out in years. Those first few weeks were absolutely brutal, as I was always the last guy and would be sore for days. As my fitness level improved, I quickly ramped up the number of days that I worked out each week and was posting 6 days per week by November. During this time, I started to realize what F3 is really about. We all start out coming for the workouts to get in shape…. but the real magic is what comes beyond the workouts. The 2nd and 3rd F is what really drives us to keep coming back and it takes a while to realize that. You don’t come out for yourself…. you come out for your brothers. You come out to push each other, to laugh and bust each others balls during the workout, to give back to each other and the community. For 45 minutes each morning, nothing else in the world matters except for the beatdown that you are going through with your brothers. This is what creates the special bond that we all have.
Over these past 10 months, I have lost 56 lbs. I just turned 40 and am in the best shape of my life. I’ve made some amazing friends that I talk with on a daily basis and more than my previous friends. I’ve found that missing piece in my life and I will forever be grateful to Pi for introducing me to this life changing group. I said earlier that this was a gift and I truly believe that F3 is a gift that must be shared with others. I’ve shared this gift with 15 other guys during my time. So now I challenge you men to find someone who you can share this gift with. Talk to your friends, your neighbors, your coworkers… there are so many men out there that don’t even realize that they need this. Tell them your story…. tell them my story or anyone else’s story. A lot of them might look at you like you’re crazy and that’s ok…. you’ll also hopefully get someone who says OK and comes out to a workout. Maybe they like it… maybe they don’t… it’s our job to show them that this is not just some workout group. It’s our job to share this gift of F3 with them.
