Introduction

We rarely stray from the pristine grounds of this beautiful AO and I felt it was time to take a field trip. We saddled up our packs and moved out right away.

Warm-O-Rama

PAX were warned there would be no WOR. In order to get it all in, we had to move right at 5:15.

The Thang

We rucked, but the whole idea was to push the pace today… I wanted to push the pace, but also add extra  weight! We took off at a brisk pace and kept it up the whole time. We mixed in moseys along the way as well. About 1 mile in we picked up the first of 3 weighted bags. It was the 20lb bag. We kept pushing and after about another half mile, we picked up the next bag (40lbs). We had another half mile until we got to the 80 pounder. Everyone felt pretty cocky until they got this one! In order to keep the pace we let the man with 80lb bag lead us in a mosey. When he needed a break, we shuffled who was holding each of the bags and kept moving. All five of us got a chance to run with it over the next 1.5 miles. On our way back we were running out of time so we ditched the extra bags and ran back the last .5 miles with just our packs.

Circle of Trust

Reflecting on one of the things I have learned from 75 Hard, I talked about how there is a lot of time in the day and we have a very long time on this planet. Big goals don’t have to get accomplished over night. Breaking them down and working on them consistently will yield huge results. I have never been good at playing the guitar or drawing and I know I would enjoy both if I were better at them. I KNOW that if I practiced them for 10 minutes everyday, I could improve drastically in just a few months. Consistency is key. If you applied this to one interest after another, there is no reason you couldn’t be a renaissance man.
You could gain so much skill and knowledge just by intentionally applying yourself to something for 10 minutes everyday.

Naked Man Moleskin

I had a feeling this was going to be a good group to do this beatdown with. I’m pretty sure Ronda could mosey around carrying a car if someone asked him to. Urban Cowboy is one of those guys who never looks for recognition, but can do anything better than most people when push comes to shove. Chazz complains a hell of a lot for a guy who is consistently at the head of the pack pushing even the fittest of the pack ;-). The real story today was the return of Shoeless. He decided to miss a workout or two and woke up 3 weeks later without having posted. I tracked him down and he was more than ready to roll today. He took that 80lb bag longer than any of us and was running up and down some good size hills. He was killing it!!!
