Circle of Trust

I want to talk today about age.   (Hilariously, Nose Job thought he heard me say “today I want to talk about AIDS” :joy:).  We sometimes get caught up thinking about our age, and thinking our best years, our prime is behind us athletically.  A lot of the time we think we may have peaked in high school or our early 20’s. However, I want to share a quick story, that may make this group rethink the narrative they may be telling themselves.

Back in 2014, Meb Keflezighi was 2 weeks from turning 39 years old.  On April 21st, he won the Boston Marathon, running it in 2 hours 8 minutes.  Amongst elite level marathoners, a 38 year old shouldn’t be winning a major, which makes it all the more impressive.

So keep this story in mind and try to keep that voice in your head quiet when it tells you you’re too old; you probably have a lot more in the tank than you think you do.

Conclude with an Our Father

Naked Man Moleskin

I know I promised great weather, but it turned out to be rainy and low 50’s.  Really appreciate the PAX coming out still, despite the not so great weather.

Props to Serena and Nose Job, who I believe ran 5 miles at a 6:47 pace.  Well done.
