The Thang
Split into two 3-man teams…American League vs. the National League.
Each team ran out to their own baseball field and lined up next to one foul pole.
We ran “poles” foul pole to foul pole for a duration of minutes broken down below.
We ran for 3 intervals or games logging over 3+ Miles…
- GAME 1: 12+ Minutes American League Won
- GAME 2: 8+ Minutes National League Won
- GAME 3: 6+ Minutes Tie
Playoff included an AYG foul pole to foul pole with Motown winning the sprint to claim the victory for the National League.
Circle of Trust
Born on Christmas in Chicago, IL in 1958…
This future HOF’r, made his major league debut June 25th, 1979.
He went on to become a 10 time all star,
had 1406 stolen bases, next to Lou Brock with about 938, and he set the single season SB record with 130 in 1982.
This none other than Ricky Henderson…one of the games best lead off hitters if not THE best. And someone to always think about when it comes to running in baseball…
Other things Ricky was known for:
-Hanging the check of his $1M Signing bonus in a frame on his wall
-Speaking in 3rd person “Ricky is the best, Ricky knows he’s the best”
-Didn’t spend per diem money MLB players would get at about $75-$150/day and would let underprivileged kids come pick out an envelope.
-One widely reported story was a fabrication that began as a clubhouse joke made by a visiting player. While playing for Seattle in 2000, Henderson was said to have commented on first baseman John Olerud‘s practice of wearing a batting helmet while playing defense, noting that a former teammate in Toronto did the same thing. Olerud was reported to have replied, “That was me.” The two men had been together the previous season with the 1999 Mets, as well as with the 1993 World Champion Blue Jays. Several news outlets originally reported the story as fact.
“If my uniform ain’t dirty, I didn’t do anything in the game.” Ricky Henderson.

Thanks for coming to an all star run club today gentlemen
Prayers for all and notably for Mayhem’s friend who recently lost her husband due to a heart attack.
Naked Man Moleskin
We all know what “poles” are about now…nice work from the HIM’s that showed up today. All Star status for these brothers.
