Introduction

Today was Run n Gun day at the Ridge.  12 other HIMs brought out their inner child and rewound the hands of time.  We took 45 minutes to forget the world around us and remind ourselves what it is like to have fun while working your ass off.  Most men burned 550+ calories and posted over 2 miles of mixed running.  Thank you to everyone for putting in the work for my VQ

The Thang

We divided into 2 teams for a massive water fight/capture the flag game.

Each team has a base, flag and captain.  Each base is equipped with your weapons (water guns, balloon launchers, slingshots) and ammunition (water balloons, 5 gallon container of water for refill).  PAX were given the option to carry a bag/ruck to load with extra ammo to make the mission more physically demanding and/or have enough ammo to make the journey across the battlefield and back.

Team  members will up at their base and will try to cross into enemy territory and steal their flag and safely return it to their base.  If a PAX is hit at any time during the mission to capture or return the flag, they must drop the flag and return to base, tag base and then can return to battle.  Balloon must break for it to be considered a hit and a team can return the flag to their base if it they were able to catch the opposing team while they were attempting to return to their base.

This is an OYO run.  Do not leave your team without backup.  We didn’t come out for easy so don’t sit back and hide.  The goal of this mission is to distract you from your own mental limitations and push you to run farther faster while also doing a bit of plyometric type exercises dodging water fire.

Circle of Trust

I just want to thank each of you for pushing me every day.  I have been fighting obesity for years and this group gives me the strength to push through my own mental hurdles.  Our world right now is in turmoil.  Like myself, it is not going to heal on its own.  We need to push our friends, coworkers, family members and ourselves to be the fuel that empowers the change necessary to heal.  I grew up with 1 simple rule.  It is a slight modifications to the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you wish others to do unto you – only a little better.  I want to challenge each of you to walk out of here and do a little better to each of your bothers and sisters you encounter today and everyday going forward.  I grew up in a very religious household.  I myself am not a traditional church going individual but I do believe in the power of faith and the underlying message in all forms of religion to do right by others.

We wish our F3 brother, Blowfish a fast and full recovery.  We look forward to seeing you ITG very soon!

To our creator, please give us the strength to help heal our hoe, our land, our brothers and our sisters.  you have put a mirror in front of our society and we are not proud of the reflection.  Please grant us the strength to be the leaders we are meant to be and show those in despair that we stand with them and support them.  Help us reflect on our own actions and empower the change within ourselves so we can look ourselves int eh mirror and be proud of what we see and know we are doing our part.   help us to treat those around us as we want to be treated and have the will to do it just a little better.  Amen
