Introduction

Weather conditions:  Bit of a breeze but real feel was 63F….let’s rock!

I’ve been waiting to Q this workout for 1.5 months.  Had to secure some American Flags for this one as I promised a Running Boot Camp and I LOVE running with The Flag!!!

PAX in Attendance (17): 5-Putt, Bailout, Beatbox, Biscuit Joiner, Boiler Up, Crawl Space, Gopher, Jellystone, Penalty Box (Site Q), Senor Frog, Sheldon (Caffeine Q), Spin Out, Toby, Twilight (Q), Urkel (Nation’s Trouble Maker), Vern, Z-Pak

Warm-O-Rama

Jog around the lot, stopping on occasion to do:

    • Abe Vigodas  10x, 4ct
    • Failure to launch (modified)  10x, 4ct
      • These are actually a pretty good warm up exercise.  It is also an awesome video opportunity for a Site Q.  Almost as funny looking as Monkey Humpers but better than Nancy Kerrigans IMHO
    • Quad stretch  7x each leg; about 3s each
    • LBC  15x, 4ct

The Thang

Indian Run to first Thang:  Three teams each with the American Flag out front.  Teams 1 and 2 leading with Team 3 acting as Tail End Charlie.  The Catch….if we see someone we’ll yell, “Good Morning!”. If they respond in kind, 5 Burpees, if the do not acknowledge, 10 Burpees (this was quickly brought down to 3 and 5).

Thang 1 – Merkins 40x (Dark Helmut once said he found info on the internet that fit men were capable of doing 40 merkins without stopping)

  • Together, 20x in 4ct cadence (LOUD)

Indian Run with Flags

Thang 2 – Railroad Tracks

50yrds out, 10 Kraken Burpees to refuel the train and then 50 yrds back

Indian Run with Flags

Thang 3 – Lt Danger  (L/R Lunge, Squat, Merkin)

  • 25 yrs out and back (STAY LOW, Beatbox!!!)

Fast Mosey with Flags to Aquatic Parking Lot

Thang 4 – Paula Abduls (two lines forward, one line back; 7 lines total)

  • Bear Crawl
  • Crab Walk
  • Gorilla Front
  • EC – Gorilla Side Walk

Quick Mosey with Flags to Hockey Rink

Thang 5 – 5’s (just like 11’s….but 5’s)

  • PCMB & Walmart Burpees

Quick Mosey with Flags to The Flags

Thang 6 – Sprints 5x – 40yrd (had to cancel due to time and, admittedly, self preservation)

Thang 7 – Jack Webbs

  • Blockee and Overhead Clap (OHC); I think we made it to 5:20 before it was time for Mary

6MoM

  • Freddy Mercury’s 15x, 4ct (slower and with leg extended straight and low to ground)
  • Beatbox request
    • Typewriters 5x, 4ct
    • Another exercise but don’t remember the name
  • Elevator Merkins until 0600

Circle of Trust

CoR/NoR/Announcements and Prayer requests were made.

Observations

  • Quote by Dredd on a lost art.  “Passioned debate and spirited argument are the crucible from which Truth is forged.  But a crucible is hot, uncomfortable and dangerous”.
  • Lesson by F3 Naperville’s very own Rusty.  He was visiting with his 92 year old Dad, who used to be a mountain of a man and can now barely walk.  He mentioned that his best friend was just a bit younger and still golfing, volunteering and staying active.  Rusty then realized the secret to a long, active life….”Never stop moving!!!” (See Back Blast from 10/06/2020 – The Citadel – Burpees and B.L.I.M.P.S)
  • Remembering our Brothers Down Range in Louisville for GR21.

Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

Naked Man Moleskin

Was wondering how this one would work out.  Lots of moving parts and had to improvise along the way.  But all PAX were up fo the challenge and had a lot of fun.  I think we almost reached the 3S2T again…. would have for sure if we had completed the sprints.  Next time!

Nice of Urkel to grace us with his presence and join us after WoR.  Oh Linus!!!

Think we did around 16-19 “Good Morning” burpees while we were out and about that added to the adventure.  I have another fun trick to try (borrowing, actually) the next time I do a Pearls on a String type workout.

Thanks to the Site Q’s for bringing their Flags out today.  I know it’s a pain to keep the Flags in your vehicle all the time (I know as I was a Site Q myself for 16 months) but I think it’s pretty cool to pull in and see all the Flags present, especially for an FNG or a passerby.

Awesome music selection by all (except for Vern’s Hannah Montana request, which we played anyway)!!!  Thanks for your trust and hard work!!!  Looking forward to Qing again in a few weeks.
