Introduction

If you’re never gonna miss a Monday, might as well get after it at a Black Diamond.

Warm-O-Rama

9 PAX were welcomed to DT Black Diamond action and we were off. Mosey’d over to the parking lot by Centennial Beach for some WoR: Good Morning’s IC x 15, Mountain Climbers IC x 25, Imperial Walkers IC x 15.

The Thang

After WoR, the squad took off running north towards Naperville North. As we headed North we split up into two teams of 5 to Indian Run up the high school. A year ago YHC took the PAX up to NNHS but overshot Mill St and we had some splitting up happen because of the detour and different paces. This time YHC double-checked the map to make sure he knew where Mill St was and ONCE AGAIN overshot it and headed north on Eagle St instead. #AAR!

Once at the school parking lot each PAX claimed an oversized diagonal bus parking space for some 11’s. PAX Broad Jump’d up the space for 1 Mary Catherine Gallagher and Mosey’d back down the space for 10 Derkins on the curb. Once 5 PAX completed all 11 rounds we headed south towards the DT hill.

As the guys made it back to Jefferson St right by the Naperville Parks building YHC decided to do some Caterpillars on the sidewalk to wait for the 6. As soon as we were all in position a car needed to pull in to the lot (awfully early, I’d say!) so we bailed and took off for the hill. “No man left behind” is our mantra but Appletini was somewhat left behind but he eventually found us at the hill!

@ the Hill, we worked on some S.A.D.D.L.E Up – a series of escalating exercises In Cadence. 15 reps IC the first time doing an exercises and then 10 for all subsequent rounds. After each round of exercises on the path at the far end of the hill by the river, the Pax would run to the bottom of the hill and then turn around and Bernie Sanders up the rest of the way and then run back to the path. Exercises were:

Squats – American Hammers – Dolly – Dying Cockroach – Lunges – E2K (we didn’t get to E2K)

Went like this: 15 Squats, Run, 10 Squats + 15 American Hammers, Run, 10 Squats + 10 American Hammers + 15 Dolly’s, Run, 10 Squats + 10 American Hammers + 10 Dolly’s + 15 Dying Cockroaches,  Run + 10 Squats + 10 American Hammers + 10 Dolly’s + 10 Dying Cockroaches + 20 Lunges, Run. End at the top of the Hill.

Circle of Trust

Just asked these PAX to continue getting out to Black Diamond’s and bringing the fire to our 1stF culture and chasing stronger and faster men in the pursuit of consistent Acceleration. Also reminded the men that doing “this” stuff is just as much about the other guys than it is for ourselves. Plenty of men are fighting demons, or thinking about sleeping in the next day, or waiting to see the type of crowd that’s forming at an AO…keep posting and pushing and bringing the energy when you post in the hopes that it keeps another guy posting and pushing and bringing the energy. Stronger together can be cliche but it’s real and it can be palpable. Have a great morning! Wrapped with a 30 second moment of silence for the men to pray, set an intention for the day, just be quiet and calm before the hustle and bustle of the day begins.

Naked Man Moleskin

Bjorn no-showed. Muggsy no-showed. Curds was on time. There’s nothing sneaky about Bernie Sanders’ing up a hill, it just sucks. Blinky and Private Ryan and Gordon’s just quietly crushing everything thrown their way. We covered approx 4.5 miles over the course of the hour. Gordon’s just registered for GTE25 out in Cali. Can’t believe I overshot Mill St again. Seabiscuit showed up at CoT to drop off some Ragnar shirts and thought “BD” stood for “Birthday” so YHC got some always appreciated Birthday wishes even though we’re 4 months away. Snoop picked up a weighted vest from Hootie afterwards – #NextLevel here we come. Love, Uncle Rico
