Introduction
This is the May. Since I will be out of town for May 25th (the anniversary of Star Wars), YHC has a Star Wars themed workout for May the Fourth. Star Wars music. Bring your coupons just in case. HC in the thread.
The Scene: Arrived a little after 5. I think Blinky was returning from running a kajillion miles for EC. Set up 4 cones for Thang 1, went and checked out the pavilion. Little known fact: the backside Men’s room is open even though the door is locked. Didn’t need to use it but good to know the option is there. Welcomed the pax. 2 FNG’s!! 5:15am was here before I knew it.

The Thang
THANG 1 Battle of Hoth
Split pax into 2 groups at each end of the parking lot. One group begins lunge walking. They are the AT-AT’s. The other group runs toward another pax (they are the snow speeders). Once they reach a pax, they drop and bear crawl around them twice and run back to start. Repeat until the walkers reach the other side. Switch teams and repeat.
THANG 2 Tusken Raiders
Single file line (to hide your numbers). First person in line walks while doing 10 shoulder presses (like raising a gaffi stick) while the rest of the pax does a bantha (bear) crawl. When done with shoulder presses, pax passes coupon to the next person and goes to the back of the line. We made our way to the pavillion. There were 24 pax so we split into 4 lines of 6.
THANG 3 Trench Run
Pax will weave in between like they are flying a starfighter. We did this around the large loop ending at the pavillion. Also did this as one looong line. YHC started from the back while carrying the speaker. Cow Bell was in the front and I had to tell him to slow down. He said that was the first time anyone told him that.
Winthorpe debated that this was more like the speeder bike chase weaving through the trees but Trench Run sounds better.
THANG 4 Jedi Training
Jedi balance against the wall – hands on ground, feet on wall, hold yourself up
Use the Force – hold right hand out for 30 seconds, recover, hold left hand out for 30 seconds. Modification for Bongo was wall sit and raise a leg.
Let go of your hate – shoulder taps (4 count) IC x 10
We did Tusken Raiders on the way back to the flags but told the pax to lunge walk instead of bear crawl.
Mary
Jedi Master Set (aka Bruce Lee) – 1. Hammer, 2. Leg raises, 3. LBC’s, 4. Heel Touches, 5. Crunchy Frog, 6. 100’s. (4 count) IC x 20 reps
Little Orphan Anakin’s – same as Annie’s (4 count) x 20 – plank position, raise one hand like you’re washing the floor for the count then switch hands.

If you focus on the negative, you are going to have a negative outcome. I’ve been struggling a lot with this lately. I’m down about my weight, my diet, my abilities. That bitch voice has been strong. And I’m having trouble caring about it. So, I need to do what any one of us should do when this happens. Change the focus. Take a deep breath. Set the intention, the positive focus for moving forward and execute.
There’s a lot I could talk about with regards to the political climate in this country or the issues of the day but all I have is another Star Wars quote.
