Introduction
Great morning. Finally cool. And excited to explore new areas of Citadel that we haven’t hit before (I think). Good group to keep us moving. Moved the start time to 5:00am so we could get in more miles and better stretching warm up / mary.
Warm-O-Rama
SSH, several leg/hammy stretches, good mornings, imperial walkers, and arm circles.
The Thang
Went with three different lengths – 3, 4, and 5.5 miles. All three start by running across Eola onto Long Grove road, then down to Ogden, and take it up and over the bridge, hang a left onto Frontenac. Willow lake trail starts just past the church (on your left side). Take that up to McCoy, hang a left, then grab the trail on the left again just past powerlines (it’s the start of Waubonsie Creek Trail). Stay left at the first intersection, then follow the river all the way back to Eola and across the foot bridge.
This is where the mileage deviates – run back to the lot for the 3 miler, or run the short loop around Waubonsie creek (crossing bridge, head south, then cross back over towards ball fields at first bridge you come too, back to lot) for the 4 miler, or for the 5 run the loop all the way down to Montgomery and back.

Mary involved stretching, flutter kicks, and LBC’s.
Circle of Trust
CoR, Announcements, NoR, Prayers. Subway attempted to EH a guy who we ran past on the Ogden bridge. Alfredo said that he “lived” all around – implying he was homeless. But he prayed for Subway, and Subway prayed for him, then invited him to swing by Eola community center at 5:15am and we’ll say hi some morning.
DJ set a new PR distance, and apparently YHC has the World’s 3rd Fastest segment “Running up the Hill” – a whopping 7 seconds covering 0.01 miles. It’s rumored Trailer Park has the 2nd fastest, but we couldn’t confirm.
Naked Man Moleskin
The longest distance between two points is a shortcut. Things take time. We cannot will it to faster nor can we find a way to make it faster. We have to be patient.
No matter what we’re going through, there is a season and everything has it’s time.
For many in F3, when they join, they see other PAX who may have a different fitness level and desire to achieve that same level. But that’s not something that happens overnight. It takes time! Just ask any man here who has lost weight – it doesn’t go quickly, and taking a shortcut only makes it worse. It’s not sustainable.
If you want real, lasting change, you need to understand it takes time. And there will be ups and downs in that time. But be patient.
A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished (Prov. 28:20)
