Introduction

AOVQ at The Citadel for Mr. Wilson, the travelling Bro-ga junky.  His personal goal is to spread the love of bro-ga across the region with a visit to each AO this year!

Warm-O-Rama

Small asana flow slowly building up pose by pose to The Thang.  Poses explored:  Prayer pose, Mountain Pose, Half-bend, Rag-doll, High Plank, Low Plank, Cobra, Downward Dog.

The Thang

Leg Burner:

Flowed through a myriad of poses focusing on the legs and warrior type poses including: Runner Lunge,  Downward Dog, Downward Dog with Leg raised, Warrior 1, Warrior 2, Triangle, Bent-over Triangle, Bent-over Warrior 2, Warrior 3, Half-Moon.  Then we worked the other side of the body using the same flow.

Leg Stretching:  Stretched our legs out using seated positions.

Ab Scorcher:  Yogi bike (like Freddie Mercury’s only slower), Reverse Plank, Boat

Arm Tickler:  Asana flow for arms and core using: High Plank, Shoulder Touches, Side Plank, side plank with leg raised (each side)

Resting in a Chair:  Finished off with a bunch of “resting” in chair pose until our legs wobbled and shook.

Circle of Trust

Depression and anxiety are tough to deal with, but often lead to a spiral of non-activity that reinforces the illnesses.  YHC found himself battling through episodes of depression last week and it was exacerbated by a lack of working out, bad eating habits and loneliness.

It wasn’t until this week that I found my body was craving activity, better food and social connection to get back to “normal”.

If you are feeling depressed or anxious, it’s amazing what a short workout, a healthy meal or going out with a friend can do for you.  If that fails, seek help.  There’s no shame in asking for assistance.

Stay-puft is the bro-ga king and was showing just how absolutely flexible a man can be!  Awesome work!
