Warm-O-Rama
Rolled up to the AO at 450am and it was 15 degrees with a feel like temperature of -1. Went for a run and returned back about 5:55am. Scouted the areas that where stations were planned and everything looked good. The temperature dropped to 10 degrees and I’m sure the real feel went was approaching -5 to -10 degrees. The winds were nasty. The SLT, team captains, Station Qs and a few other amazing volunteers starting showing up about 6am. Flags were planted and a very nice PA system was setup by Stand Up and TDub.
The PAX started showing up and we moved them to the snow covered field by the flags. Two half circles were formed.
Disclaimer was given.
The first warmup exercise was SSH in cadence x 20
Then we moved into to some imperial walkers x 10
Arm circles, front and back x 10
Then closed it out with Motivators from 8.
The Thang
Instructions were given to count off by 5. The 5 team captains joined their groups and then each team was sent to a station. The five team captains were, Parks and Rec, Road Trip, Hot for Teacher, Shameless Plug and Zubaz. Next came the pain. Each team rotated through five stations configured by some amazing Station Qs.
Lewinsky’s Station:
- Exercises at the tables by the ballfield, running down to the end of the ballfield, exercises and then running back to the concrete “corn hole” stations to toss bean bags in for points. Some PAX were able to cycle through this 2-4 times.
Sun Devil’s Station:
- Max number of layup attempts at the basketball courts in one minute. Then a partner exercise where one partner rotated through a box jump, kettle bell, sand bag, medicine ball, and rope circuit while the other partner ran the perimeter of the basketball court.
Wedding Planner’s Station:
- 10 straight minutes of hell. Murder bunny through the sand and rifle carry back. Points were awarded for each time through. It sucked.
Kapusta’s Station:
- Merkins, Squats, Burpees, Leg Raises with bear crawls in between then run back to the start and do it all over again. One point awarded per PAX each time through.
Rx’s Station:
- Towards the hill! Rx put together a nice course using a portion of the hill while carry paver blocks. When you got back to the start, you did squats, walk out merkins and grady corns, all with the paver blocks. each time through the circuit was worth one point. Holding cold blocks in these temperatures just plain sucks.
All the PAX returned to the flags for Mary. They were greeted by Algorithm and a few jokes. Thank you brother.
Wedding Planner took it from there. Thank you brother. While he was leading Mary, the Station Q’s added up the points. Team 2 was the winner!
Circle of Trust
The HIM Belt was presented to Rx! It was delivered in a sandbag. He was shocked. He shouldn’t be though. He has been accelerating in all three Fs. Rx is a Site Q Champion, creative Q, always showing up at 2nd F events and spearheading Q Source on the west. He’s a TRUE HIM!
Parks and Rec announced the opening of F3 Naperville’s first all train running AO, the Buzzsaw at Saw Wee Kee park in Oswego.
Naked Man Moleskin
Our Nantan, Animal House reflected on being in the gloom for the man next to you. That is enough reason to get out of bed to do the hard stuff, to support the man next to you.
