Circle of Trust
Novie McCabe, Jaelin Kauf and Ben Ogden…
Does anyone know who these people are? I did NOT until last night.
They are 3 athletes competing in this years real Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.
- Novi is a Cross Country skier from Winthrop, WA – population 492
- Jaelin is a Freestyle skier from Alto, WY – population 460
- and Ben is a Cross Country skier from Landgrove, VT – population 152
I watched these athletes be recognized last night during the opening ceremonies. The broadcast added that the 3 largest cities in the United States (Chicago, LA and New York) had zero athletes representing their town.
This made me think, what does this mean? Does it matter where you come from? How big or small of a city or town? Maybe, probably, sometimes, and sometimes not.
Or does it matter more to how you represent where you come from? These 3 athletes above are putting their home towns, as small as they are, on the biggest stage possible in their craft.
Imagine the sense of pride, the hard work, the focus, the care these athletes put into their craft.
So I leave you and myself with this today HIM’s…what are you putting on your map?
Prayers.
Naked Man Moleskin
Tons of fun at the ole OP7 today! Everyone brought it and special salute to Bob Ross who took a spill slipping on the ice in one of the most competitive street curling matches ever seen. He’s ok and we’re glad. Extra shout out to Rusty who’s marksmanship skills were on display in the final round of the biathlon shot. Brother man has some Robin Hood in him! Uncle Rico broke the speed skating tape taking the GOLD there and clearly Team A won the competition for the day.
Til next time…keep that torch lit.
