Introduction
So friggin tired. But I was curious how the post was gonna work out. Nice to see Bongo back in action and always glad to have Twilight around (even if on MASH duty). OP is a great location. Forces you to get creative. Let’s Go!!
Warm-O-Rama
SSH, Tappy Taps, Monkey Humpers (dammit I called them mountain man poopers – got my M’s mixed up), Grady Corns.
The Thang
THIS WAS AWESOME.
Thang 1
Jog to Bridge with coupon
if you lower it, or stop, 5 burpees, then if you stop again, 10 burpees, etc.
If you get to the bridge then you do burpees till 6 arrives
Thang 2
bear crawl up to bridge: lunge across bridge, crawl bear to bottom on the other side, 50 Merkins, repeat back. (50 merkins when you get back.)
Thang 3
Jog to flag with coupon
if you lower it, or stop, 5 burpees, then 10, etc.
If you get to the flag then you burpee till 6 arrives
This actually took longer than planned. That bridge is no joke when it comes to length. But it was non-stop breathing and hustling. And if we’d had another half hour I would have done another round.
Mary was even better. 50 American Hammers to a 4 count (which is 200 single twists if you’re keeping count), 25 4 counts flutter kicks. 10 Overhead lateral pulls (I think that’s what they’re called. Wine in a Box did them and they work the upper core really well), then Lots of LBC’s.
Circle of Trust
In all my posts, I don’t think I’ve witnessed a funnier scene. We finished at 6, I hopped up. Snorkle hopped up. And no one else moved off the ground. I genuinely thought I’d hurt some dudes. They weren’t talking, moving, or generally showing signs of how much they loved the workout. It was funny and concerning all at once. Guess that’s a good thing.
CoR, Announcements (in which Ken Doll obligingly read EVERY SINGLE DETAIL of the F324 event upcoming), NoR, then prayer requests.
Naked Man Moleskin
The narrow road vs the broad and open gate.
We hear about this often. The broad gate and easy path leads to destruction. Sad Clown syndrome thrives here. It’s easy to choose this, not that hard, and the doughnuts here taste really, really good (I had to ask the PAX to laugh at this point. I’m not sure they understood it was a joke).
The narrow path, the harder one, leads to the small gate. Not everyone goes through this one. It ain’t easy. It requires making tough choices, sacrifices, but it leads to LIFE.
We Don’t Get up for easy. Do something hard. Learn from it. Commit to it. It’s the way to LIFE.
