Introduction

Showed up around 4:55 to get set up.  Needed a cone on the opposite side of the parking lot for the iron pax run and had to get the tunes ready.  Most PAX where there early with good mumble chatter going on.  Lots of talk about the convergence happening at the Ridge on Saturday.  Met our FNG Brent brought by Happy Camper.

Warm-O-Rama

We started with a run around the parking lot.  Main goal was to show all PAX the route we would be running for the Iron Pax.  Started with a mosey and then transitioned to the following during the run:

High knees, butt kicks, side shuffle both sides, and karoke both sides

Circled up:

10 count of tappy taps

10 count of arm circles each direction

Circle of Trust

Reflecting on some other COTs I’ve been part of recently around keys to success and filling whatever void you have in your life made me think my M.

My wife grew up musically inclined playing the piano, violin, and guitar.  She only played the guitar for a couple of years in high school and then got busy with other things. After we got married my in laws gave us the baby grand piano they had bought for her when she was young and it travelled with us to Houston, TX, Champaign, IL and then to Plainfield.  She would play it once in a while but not routinely.  4-5 years ago she felt like something was missing and made the decision to start playing the guitar again.  This is not something typical for a woman who was 37 years old at the time.  She proceeded to take guitar lessons for about 3 years.  My wife has a journalism degree and along with music has a great gift and passion for writing.  The natural extension was for her to begin writing her own songs which she started doing about 1.5 years ago.  Within 6 months she had written several songs, collaborated with several other artists to sing and play on them, learned how to use the Garage Band software on her computer to mix them, and released her first single.   At the start of Covid, she was limited in collaborating with others and took the leap to start recording her own vocals which took a lot of courage on her part because she never saw herself as a singer.  At the present time she has written almost 20 songs, continues to hone her craft in Garage Band, continues to make more connections collaborating with others, and this week released her first music video which she recorded herself.

She is a great example for me to see someone who had something missing in their life and went after it with a ton of passion.  I’d challenge everyone to self-reflect and make sure that you have found that thing that you have passion for and drives you.  That could be F3 or some other aspect in your life.  F3 encourages us to focus on those things that we are passionate and to stop doing the other things getting in the way.   Continue to challenge yourself to achieve this vision.

Naked Man Moleskin

Overall it was a very challenging workout.  Temp was around 75 F and humidity was high.  Everyone was completely soaked in sweat when we were done.

All PAX finished in under 33 minutes which was awesome to see.  As PAX finished they continued to workout alongside the PAX still working hard to get across the finish line.  Love to see these types of workouts where we all push but support each other.  Definitely no man left behind or where we found them.

As we all assumed would happen Disco Ball, Vern, and Unlucky went beast mode lapping most of us.  Maybe some day….

FNG Brent shared an embarrassing story about how he burned off one of his eyebrows while trying to light a cigarette in college.  He will forever now be known as Unibrow.  Welcome brother!!

Blowout had some technical difficulties with his tripod for the picture but like a pro transitioned quickly to selfie mode.  Thanks for having my 6 bud!
