Introduction

The previous day at this AO, which had the same forecast as this am, didnt end up with snow so the pavement and and parking lot was in good condition.

Well, this am when I got there, that was not the case. There was atleast 1 inch of fresh snow which made hid all the black ice.

I was still confident and started setting the cones with workouts at different parts of the parking lot. As I was almost done, I realized that this was not going to be safe for running back and forth. Had to modify!

Did quick introductions and we were on the move!
The night watch was upon us. Just no white walkers!

Circle of Trust

Read the poem “The Man in the Glass”

What constitutes acceptance is different for us all, but if we try to think about what it universally means to satisfy The Man in the Glass, we could start by asking ourselves the following question. Do we stay true to our values, everyday? Our values may be loyalty, mindfulness, unselfishness or maybe just a commitment to see through a particular task or challenge. Whatever it may be, it must be honoured if we are to remain true to ourselves and be free of guilt. At times, we all get wrapped up in trying to impress and please others, win acceptance or fit in with a crowd. At times we all are tempted to act in a way that is not like us, so much so that we can sometimes forget who we really are. But the crowd will only clap for so long. Recognition only feels good for a short time. Money passes through us all temporarily. The man in the glass however, they never go away.

I shared about how intially it was easy for me to get caught up in how I compare to other people’s pace or strenght or skill. It was a reminder to me and what was shared with the PAX that we focus on what we can do, the best we can do, but being honest and true to ourselves.

3 Takeaways!

  1. The HIMs were humble and followed my lead with a modified version of the workout. I was able to get some valuable AAR in regards to count and cadence.
  2. I wanted to make sure everyone had a good workout. Later on I saw a 500-600 calories burn on one of the pax’s online profile, so I felt the IPC approach did work!
  3. I learn that no matter how much we plan ahead of time, it helps to go early to the AO;  it is always important to check out the AO and set thing up where it is safe before it is setup to be challenging.
