Introduction

The forecast called for solid rain (chance of thunderstorms) so the beatdown was switched up last minute to accommodate, but when we woke the skies were clear. Too bad, cuz we got after it in the shelter anyway (and the rain did come halfway thru). Rainy, 67 degrees, perfect morning to be ITG.

Disclaimer: I am not a professional, I’m not aware of any of your injuries, modify as necessary.

Core Principles

– Peer lead in a rotating fashion

– Held outdoors, rain or shine

– Open to all men

– Free of charge

– Ends in a Circle of Trust

Warm-O-Rama

Warm-o-rama

– Capri lap around the lot

– Hammy stretches

– Arm circles (in cadence)

(mosey to the shelter with coupons)

The Thang

Thang 1 (Deuces wild)

Deck of cards. Divided into face cards and numbers. Pick a face card for the exercise, number card for how many we have to do.

First time thru – 1:1 ratio

Second time thru – 1:2 ratio

Third time thru – 1:3 ratio (damn you bartyles and james for pulling blockies for 30)

Thang 2 (DORA)

– Partner up. Your teams will complete 100 step ups on the park benches, 200 dips, and 300 plank jacks. While one partner is doing the exercise, the other will sprint to the speed bump and back

HeadShouldersKnees&Toes (while holding People’s Chair against the wall): 20 of those IC then 20 American Hammers IC, then 15 HSK&T’s, then 15 Amer Hammers, and wrapped with 10 HSK&T’s and 10 American Hammers.

Circle of Trust

Live third – The consistent and deliberate placement of oneself third, behind Creator and Community. This is an F3 credo and it’s one that speaks directly to me because I have battled my whole life (and still do) with selfishness.

Consider someone in your life who embodies this principle and what they mean to you, and more importantly, why? For me it’s my Grandmother, who for my entire life, has embodied this principle by putting the Lord first in life, and then everyone else. She’s made an undeniable and life long impression on me by giving me an example of exactly what it means to live third. To me, these people are a clear reflection and embodiment of our merciful and loving Lord. I challenge everyone to to consider who that person is your own life and reach out to them to let them know what they mean to you. Then, honor them by living out this principle, even if just for an hour, or a day, put your Creator first and then everyone else.

Lord we’re grateful for this opportunity to get out (in the gloomy gloom this morning) and grow stronger together. We thank you and praise your name. Amen.

Naked Man Moleskin

Rain feels great after a you get thru half of a beatdown and sweat thru your clothes already. Just kills the outdoor coffeeteria when you can’t go inside to get out of the rain.
