Introduction

Disclaimer decided to go big for his VQ, rolling out IronPAX Week 1 for 20 PAX at The Outpost.  Everyone showed up early so we could get right into a LONG workout.

First time Disclaimer got to deliver the F3 Disclaimer, so how about that?

Warm-O-Rama

Kept it short with the lengthy workout ahead:

  • Side straddle hops, 15 reps, in cadence
  • Arm circles, 10 each way, in cadence
  • Imperial walkers, 15 reps, in cadence

The Thang

It was IronPAX Week 1, so no room for creativity.  We cranked up the tunes, set our timers and set to work on the following:

3 burpees EMOM until you have completed:

50 hand release release merkins

100 leg raises

150 jungle boi squats

200 big boys

250 lunge steps

All 20 PAX pushed through and finished in 40 minutes, with at least two flying through in under 29 minutes.  Shout-out to all the early finishers for jumping in and doing extra lunge steps and burpees with the remaining PAX until everyone was finished.

Circle of Trust

We talked bout the value of optimism in the trying times and how we can take hope from this group of men that comes together with shared visions of self-improvement, leadership, fellowship, and faith.  While we deal with COVID, civil unrest, homeschooling, virtual offices, job losses, and all the rest, we can draw hope from this group.

I shared this quote from German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer:

“The essence of optimism is that it takes no account of the present, but it is a source of inspiration, of vitality and hope where others have resigned; it enables a man to hold his head high, to claim the future for himself and not to abandon it to his enemy.”

Challenge was issued to all PAX to hold their heads high and claim their future for themselves.

Prayer requests lifted up for all parents dealing with kids starting the school year, Mr. Miagi, and Kool-Aid.

Naked Man Moleskin

I appreciate all the support on my VQ!

Special thanks to Quarter Cart for showing up in his best business casual attire to site Q and proctor – he even got in a few burpees toward the end.
