Buggs joined us as well from the Bro Garage.

Nice morning here in Naperville. In the preblast, I asked PAX to measure out 25 yards. I also warned them that we would be visiting this spot often. I believe I ended up being a man of my word. Coupons required!

11’s with SSH and 4ct Mountain Climbers. Started with 10 single count SSH, then 1 4 ct Mtn Climber. 9 SSH, 2 4ct Mtn Climbers, 8-3, etc to 1 SSH and 10 4 ct Mtn Climber.

We are now warm.

The Thang

Inspired by the Colt45 excercise…we broke down a few exercises with some ‘movement’ in between.

Exercise 1:

Coupon Curls – standard Colt 45

Half way up curls x 15 (on my count)

Starting 90 degrees up to fully bent x 15 (on my count)

Full curls x 15 OYO

A: Crab walk 25 yards out, Bear crawl 25 yards in

Repeat the above set but at the end:

B: Backward run 25 yards out, sprint in 25 yards.

Repeat for 3rd set but at the end

C: Low shuffle left out 25 yards, shuffle right in 25 yards.

Exercise 2:

Chest Press x 15 (on my count)

Skull Crusher x 15 (on my count)

Chest Press into Skull Crush x 15 OYO

Did three sets and at the end of each set, we did A, then B, then C above.

Exercise 3:

Goblet Squat x 15 (on my count)

OH Press x 15 (on my count)

Thruster x 15 OYO

Two sets. Did A then B at the end. (Did not do third set due to time)

Exercise 4:

Merkins x 10 (on my count)

Knee Tucks x 10 (on my count)

SSH x 10 (on my count)

Burpee x 10 OYO

Finished with B. (Did only one set due to time)

Today, July 15th, is the IRS’s extended tax deadline date. First thing I did when I woke up this morning was check my bank account. Yep…my tax liability had been taken out. Just a reminder that while we may put things off, eventually it will become time to settle the debt. Settle the score. Meet your maker…?

This led me to think about how we all have different things that we maybe put off and procrastinate. Why? Are we not ready? Do we maybe secretly hope for a different result (like my taxes)? Or do we just hope the problem will go away? More likely than not, the end result will be the same. We still need to settle our due.

Furthermore, we need to prepare? Where do you stand? Are you ready? I mentioned an example of my brother and sister-in law who just had their first child last Thursday. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how much you think you are prepared. The truth is that once you are thrown into the fire, you will need to adapt and overcome. Seeing the pictures and messages from him have been fun because I know a lot of what they are going through right now. I see them adapting well and becoming the great parents that they have the potential to be.

Moral of the message is to just prepare yourself. Know where you stand. Responsibilities and obligations will not just disappear. Even if you are given a magically extended deadline!

I probably made the workout sound a lot more confusing than I needed to in the Backblast, but it was basically four different exercises broken down into their various movements. Each exercise was supposed to have three sets with a different ‘run’ out to our 25 yard marker. The thrusters were particularly brutal. Maybe just because of the spot they were in on the workout…or maybe just because they are thrusters. Anyways, all PAX started and finished together and it felt solid. Thanks to all the men for joining me this morning and pushing through!
