Introduction
Lead my first Q where we all did some much needed Broga after a 4th of July beatdown! All who showed up were rewarded with a calmer being and maybe a bit more loose too.
Warm-O-Rama
Warm-up was built into the flow. We began slow and picked up the tempo as we progressed throughout the practice.
The Thang
Led PAX through a Vinyasa flow practice that really focused on breath and movement. As the practice progressed we picked up the tempo a bit more and started to bring all the poses together. It was a great change of pace for some bodies that might have been a little beat up (Maybe I’m just speaking for myself). We all left feeling a little more relaxed and calmer.
Circle of Trust
I shared an Native American Parable with the men this morning.
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”
He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
When I decided to step up for my first Q this parable came to me instantly as to what I wanted to share at the end of our workout.
I feel that it really speaks to all of us and to how we’re all working toward becoming the best version of ourselves.
Naked Man Moleskin
How are we choosing to show up in our lives? Are we being kind to ourselves if we veer of our path for a moment or two? This parable makes me think about how we have to constantly reflect on our lives to check in and see if we’re living a life that is true to who we feel to be from a soul perspective not the ego. My question to you is who’s life are you going to live yours or someone else’s?
