Introduction

It was a beautiful morning and as the sun was coming up we had a science lesson provided by Nequa Valley’s  science teacher (Longshanks).  He showed us where Venus was and he told us how we needed to be on the lookout for the comet.

F3 Disclaimer was rattled off, a count was taken so we know how many are in the group, my cell number was given out to the PAX in case of emergency while we were on the ride.

Lastly, we headed out for a 45 min/11.3 mile ride with an avg speed of 16 mph.

Warm-O-Rama

No warm-up took place we just started our ride.

The Thang

The route was pre-planned and dropped into Strava for those that were interested.

We started out toward Knoch Knolls and headed south on the paved trails moving toward 95th.  Once we hit 95th we headed west until we got to Knock Knolls Drive taking a right heading back toward the Complex.  We turned left and headed north on Modaff for a long straight away. We took a right heading east on Gartner and rode until we hit the Dupage River Trail.  When we reached the river trail we headed south and circled back to the Complex.

Circle of Trust

Count a Rama was had to ensure we did not lose anyone along the way.

Announcements were read.

Prayer Requests for the following;

Big Mike (WW FiL) & Bobby Thompson

Rusty’s brother

Toady & his wife

Crabgrass’ family as they deal with the loss of his brother

Naked Man Moleskin

Time is very precious and you do not know what Gods plan is for you, so make the most of the time you have on this Earth.  My FiL’s childhood friend passed away on 7/13 while fishing.  He stood on the bow of his boat as he has done hundreds of times in his life throwing out his cast.  This time it would be his last cast, Bobby fell into the water and never resurfaced.  The man that was with him jumped in water trying to save Bobby. He eventually found him unresponsive and he began to swim to shore with Bobby (took over an hour). Once he made it to shore he called 911.  He had passed by the time the paramedics arrived on the scene.  I pray Bobby is at peace and that he is still throwing his lure in the water watching for his next catch.
