Introduction

Guys, get your HC in before you crack that first beer and hold yourself accountable! This is gonna be a burner! I originally took this Q to celebrate my one year anniversary with F3 but after last week the motive has changed.  We will be putting in work to honor Noonan.  HC in the thread, no excuses SYITG! Also right at 5:15 we will mosey to the cafe so if you’re late that’s where we are. Coupons required.

Warm-O-Rama

Noonan Q’ed the day after the superbowl last year here at DT. It was my first time meeting him and I wanted to start this off with a quote from his CoT:
“Prosperity conceals character, adversity reveals it”
-during this time of adversity F3 Naperville’s true character has surfaced and I could not be prouder to say that I am a member of this group. With that said let’s give this workout 110% to continue to honor Noonan! Aye?
Throughout the workout in place of countdown recovery times PAX spoke about their favorite Noonan memories.
1. Tappy Tapps (10)
2. Mountain Climbers (10)
3. Burpees (Thunderstruck4:50)
– Miyagi spoke of his favorite Noonan Memory
4. Motivators (6)

The Thang

We had a lot of visitors today so I had to modify exercises due to a lack of coupons. This Q was the second one I ever attended at F3 and it was led by Noonan and it was by far one of my favorites so I wanted to recreate it.  We did not get through everything so don’t be surprised if you see the rest of it in the future.

We divided Pax up in two separate groups one group used coupons the other did not. Once groups finished we waited for the 6 and swapped exercises.

Group 1:

30 Merkins

30 Squats

30 Big boys

Run over bridge to Eagle Street back to Cafe (0.5 miles)

Group 2:

30 coupon swings

30 curls

30 overhead presses

Run over bridge to Eagle Street back to Cafe (0.5 miles)

Wait for 6: Aflac and Shandy tell favorite Noonan memory

Round 2

Same exercises except 40 repetitions we only made it half way then ran out of time.

Circle of Trust

Prayers/Thoughts/Announcements:
CoT: My favorite thing about Noonan was just how he made everything look so easy. Whether it was basketball at our saviors, working out here in the gloom or just talking to him about coaching and being a
dad. Coaching can be frustrating, and most of us complain about the struggles of parenting, but I could
tell Noonan loved and took so much pride in both. Come to think of it I don’t think I ever heard him
complain about anything. Just listening to how he handled life gave me a calm confidence in whatever
advice I was seeking from him. His effortless demeanor was not only displayed in conversation, but also
in how he carried himself ITG. As a tennis fan I’d have to compare him to Roger Federer. Fed will hit a
shot that most professionals wouldn’t dream of hitting, and he would make it look like a routine volley. He is still a top player and most of the competition is 5 to 15 years younger than him. Noonan made the
hardest beatdowns seemed effortless, and he ran circles around guys half his age in basketball at Our Saviors. I’ll never forget at Babyhand’s football Q each team needed two QBs for a drill. After hearing the directions. A few guys tentatively said things like, “I have a decent arm, I could throw if we need
someone.” no one seemed to want the pressure of Being the QB. Then Noonan picked up the ball and
said, Ill be QB. He was never cocky or arrogant, just confident, and his demeanor was contagious when
you were around him. He hit most of us right in the hands but most of the men of F3 have stone hands so
there weren’t many touchdowns.
Words can’t describe how shocked and saddened I am by the loss of our brother Noonan but I know I am
a better father, coach and person because of my time with him. I’m sure you all feel the same way. His
legacy will not stop with us though, our families, people we coach, and everyone we encounter will all
reap the benefits of the time we spent with Noonan because he made us all better men.

Naked Man Moleskin

Today was an incredible experience.  As I pulled up into the DT parking lot a little early around 5:05 a.m. I saw about 6 or 7 cars and a lot of people who were already by the flags.  To my surprise the only person from F3 was Captain Underpants, everyone else was a relative of Noonan.  A few of his brothers introduced themselves and I was lucky enough to speak with them for a few minutes before the workout began.  I feel that this really illuminated what F3 Naperville means to it’s PAX and their families.  I hope they got a taste of why Noonan loved F3. It would be great to see them again ITG!

Thanks to all the PAX that came out.

I’d like to give a special thanks to a few HIMs:

-Shandy for having the six and helping me organize the large group.

-Aflac for the soundtrack

-Poutine for finding my phone

-Tiny Bubbles for the incredible prayer at the end.

On a side note, I was blown away by how quickly we were able to name the FNGs! PAX were really on their toes this morning.
