Introduction

Did you know the concept of “alpha male” wolves that assert dominance over their pack through aggression comes from a debunked model of lupine social groups? However, they do have a highly organised social structure enabling them to enjoy maximum cooperation when hunting, communicating and defending territory. Wolves are also not particularly fast, with a top speed of about 45km/h (28mph).  They instead rely on their hearing and sense of smell to detect prey.  They have remarkable powers of endurance and are known to follow their target all day and night if necessary. And finally, wolves feed their young by carrying chewed-up food in their stomachs and throwing up, or “regurgitating”, the food for the pups when they come back to the den.

So wolves aren’t into ego-driven alpha males, don’t run that fast, love mumble chatter, have good endurance, and throw up occasionally? Looks like I have my inspiration for Q’ing at Two Wolves! Bring your coupons and get ready to “really explore the space”. HC below.

Circle of Trust

Today, I’d like to read just a bit of philosophy in lieu of my traditional COT:

Hello. How ’bout that ride in? I guess that’s why they call it Sin City. You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack, it grew by one. So, there were two of us in the wolf pack. I was alone first in the pack, and then Doug joined in later. And six months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys, I thought, “Wait a second, could it be?” And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Las Vegas, looking for st…..* and co….* So tonight, I make a toast!

Many of you may have thought that to be from Socrates or Marcus Aurelius but was in fact from Alan in the movie The Hangover. As the Alan of F3, I thank you all for being a part of my wolf pack.

*Both words redacted online due to an adult nature.  You better believe I said both during the actual COT though.

Naked Man Moleskin

Two Wolves is the best physical location in F3Naperville.  You have everything at your fingertips – hills, stairs, fields, playgrounds galore, astro turf, monkey bars, pullup bars, basketball courts, sand volleyball pits, etc.  If you can dream it, you can Q it at Two Wolves.  What are you waiting for?  Get on the Q sheet and let your freak flag fly.

What a unique and colorful group today!

Blinky – Dude was running the stairs before I even got their today.  Heis also fast as hell, very impressed by this son of a gun.

CK – Despite losing control of his tire and running an extra quarter mile to get it, CK was the picture of poise out there today.  Great job.

Ozark – Pulls up on a huge motorcycle wearing his leathers and a sour expression.  However, when he saw we were going to pull heavy stuff up a hill,  he smiled like a 1st grader on school picture day.

Mugshot – Worked his tail off and invented a new exercise that has us all crossed up.  He called it a spider walk, we will forever call it the “Mugshot Jobber”.

Lawnmower – Came in hot and stayed burning.  I do get the impression that he is a bit disappointed anytime we aren’t playing hoops. I promise some basketball next time.

DJ Sump Pump – I’m his favorite Nacho Libre, by the way.  Hilarious as always and the blast of honesty we all need during a Q.  Always a party with you, now ice down all those injuries.  You are needed at the convergence.

Bean Counter – Total pro, thanks for having our 6 out there today.  You are an excellent steward of a terrific AO.

Twighlight – Your rehab looks harder than 99% of the Q’s I’ve attended.  You really need to start wearing a bandana or headband though.  If you did that, we would look close enough alike that people would mistake me for you and think I was super tough.

Rainman – I could see your mind working a mile a minute out there.  I’m guessing you already have some crazy-ass scheme all worked out for your next Q at Two Wolves that will somehow require jumping through a flaming hoop then fighting a dragon.  PSA – Go to a Rainman Q.  They are always interesting and totally unique.

I was so happy to see HIMS I don’t typically get to work out with at Two Wolves today.  Thank you for putting up with my nonsense today and my ridiculous playlist.  Appreciate all of you.
