Introduction
PAX started to roll in hot on a EOP morning in the gloom…Hot Lips had his usual 3:15am wake up to drive over from the Indiana border and little did most PAX know, Bozo was up before 4am to scouting out Wolf’s Crossing for his double dip from this 5:15am BC to the 7am BC. You read that right, he was checking out the 7am workout at Wolf’s Crossing BEFORE the 5:15am workout even started.
EC champion of the year…Bozo getting big votes! Let’s get into the BB…
Warm-O-Rama
20 Fairy Jacks
Mosey/Capri Lap with Carioca mixed in
Up-On-The-Rooftops (PAX high plank with palms place on a curb and scale the curb right and/or left like they are scaling part of their roof)
The Thang
Today’s workout is dedicated to the movie Scrooged. Bill Murray plays Frank Cross in the 1988 classic, Scrooged. He is visited by three Ghosts…the Ghost of Christmas Past (The Taxi Driver), Present (The Fairy) and Future (Death).
Thang #1 The Ghost of Christmas Past (The Taxi Driver)
- PAX formed two vertical lines before the running path. This is NOT an Indian Run, this is Taxi Driver where PAX run in formation however there are stops and pick ups along the way. We ran from the parking lot East along the path with 5 stops and 5 burpees at each stop for a total of 25 burpees.
Thang #2 The Ghost of Christmas Present (The Fairy)
PAX partnered up for a dora. Partner #1 ran about 50 yards to a cone and back. Partner #2 started to work through these 3 exercises, rotating in dora fashion.
- 100 Flying Fairy Merkins (Hand Release Merkins sticking arms out to the side like you’re flying)
- 200 Jingle Balls (High plank, right knee to right elbow, switch to left side and repeat)
- 300 Fairy Squats (In narrow stance, toes pointed slightly outward at about 45 degrees, squat all the way down with your arms out and on the balls of your feet and back up. Heels should not hit the ground. You should look majestic in this squat, like a fairy.)
Thang #3 The Ghost of Christmas Future (Death)
PAX formed 2 lines again and ran back to pavilion by the flags. Hate to break it to us all, we’re going to die. We continued our final dora of the day.
- 50 Chimney Divers (Wall merkins only imagine you’re diving down a chimney, ya know, like Santa Claus)
- 150 Scrooge’s Stacks of Gold (High Plank position facing picnic table. Lift right hand to bench (that’s 1 count), left hand to bench (that’s 2 count), right hand down, left hand down. Repeat with Right hand up again to 3 count, left hand to 4 count, etc.)
- 200 Death Star Merkins (Diamond or Ranger style merkins, narrow grip like a star formation with both hands)
*Ran out of time to get to all of dora. Headed to flags for quick “Mary Did You Know Leg Lifts” (PAX on six, hold legs 6″ off the ground and just hold it until you know it’s 6am.)
Circle of Trust
That’s a week of 5 Q’s in 5 days fellas…thanks so much for joining me and kicking off all the extra holiday spirit!
Scrooged is a comedy based on Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol. As mentioned, Frank Cross, Bill Murray, gets a visit from 3 ghosts of the past, present, and future. You now know them better as The Taxi Driver, The Fairy, and Death.
This movie and story does paint a dark picture. There is truth in that in our future all of us are going to die. However, hopefully in this CoT we can shed some light on it and what we do about it.
This made me think about the What-What in F3. The What-What are the two questions in F3 we ask about Faith. 1) What happens when I die and 2) What does that mean in how I live my life today?
Think about that…
I did.
And it brought me back to 12/18/19, about a year ago. It was my 2nd or 3rd week after starting F3 and Snorkel was on Q right here at The Outpost. In his CoT that day he shared 5 words that would have a dramatic impact on me for the next year plus.
He said, “Choice is your greatest asset”.
This hit me so hard the next couple days I made a band to wear on my wrist with one word to represent all of what 2020 would mean to me. That word I chose was “Choice” and I have it on my wrist to this day, wearing it ever since.
I plan to make a similar choice in a word for 2021. Maybe you will too.
The point here is we all have great power in the choices we make. Many of you contributed to today by making a choice in showing up and especially in making a choice to share your favorite Christmas song or to not share. There is great impact that can come in all the choices we make.
Choice is your greatest asset.
So I go back to the What-What…1) What happens when I die and 2) What does that mean in how I live my life today?
So I choose to close with one of my favorite poems and leave it to you to answer these two questions in the What-What…
Invictus
Remember, choice is your greatest asset.
Prayers.

I was blown away by Ebeneezer’s surprise coupon delivery today, an official F3 Blues Clues coupon. Huge THANK YOU to you and all the F3 brothers!
Dude is doing work within the F3 community, giving us all something special to hold onto. Well done brother, thank you for this gift and all the extra work you put in to make the day for many others. That’s HIM work my man.
P.S. Ebeneezer to a Scrooged boot camp? I mean you can’t make this stuff up. Shout out to all the other PAX who supplied the 17+ song playlist today. Sweet Gherkins, thank you for adding your Michigan flavor to the mix with some Insance Clown Posse because that’s what I think about during Christmas? Sparky, maybe the worst song by John Denver and dad not getting drunk for Christmas but it got us going and Nala, AC/DC Mistress for Christmas, love it. All good choices from everyone here. Thank you.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all!
