Introduction

Pre-Blast for IPC Week 0 Virtuosity Style! Wednesday Aug 26 5:15am

First time doing the Iron Pax Challenge? Great! Me too! Join YHC as we pop the IPC :cherries: in the Virtual Gloom. This may just be a practice week, but there is no better time to get out, work on your form, work on your speed, and finally, work on your competitive spirit. We will ALL finish in the allotted time for our bootcamp. I will even come prepared with something to do once we finish! IMPORTANT – You need to mark off 400 meters. I am giving you plenty of time to go out and use your GPS to mark it off. Use an online pedometer, some other app…hell… bust out your measuring tape if you need to, but this part is crucial. You can choose to either do 200 meters out (which will be 400 when you go out and back) OR you can measure out the 400 and do parts of the workout in your neighbor’s driveway. Whatever makes you happy!

Singlet let me know that he did in fact utilize his measure tape to measure out the distance!

Circle of Trust

I kept my message simple (which finishing the dreaded Bonnie Blairs)…Character!

Character is who you are and what you do when no one is looking. We all logged on this morning to Virtuosity with the same goal; complete IPC week 0. I was not there to personally measure out everyone’s 400 meters. We could not all be there in person to count reps or police form. This was left to each individual PAX. What did you do when you did not think anyone was watching? That is the true test of who we are as individuals.

I also spoke about doing things out of your comfort zone. Trying new things. This IPC has been somewhat intimidating to me, and rightfully so as I learned. However, with the open Q spot for today, it seemed like a good time to get out of my comfort zone. I reached out to TPS Report and asked him if he thought it was something I could handle given my lack of experience with this challenge. His response – “Absolutely”. We will find, in life, that some of the more difficult things that we do are the things that are most worth doing. Getting out here and trying to Q this workout pushed many different limits for me today. Physically I was drained. This was a lot tougher than I anticipated. Mentally I wanted to be there to support the other PAX who were also attempting to finish this in their own driveways and garages. Technically, internet just really sucks sometimes! But in the end, we finished and it was worth it. I challenge the PAX to continue to try and do things that are new and uncomfortable. Whether it be Q’ing a workout, doing IPC, or even starting a new AO/Region. PUSH YOURSELF!

Naked Man Moleskin

I knew this would be tough, but it was tougher than I anticipated. Not sure if my body was just not right, or what happened this morning, but my time was a LOT slower than I had hoped. Those Bonnie Blairs are no joke and ultimately the Big Boi’s are my demise. They are not physically tough for me to do…but for some reason they are VERY tough for me to do in a fast pace. This is what killed my time I think. Anyways, ready for next week!

HUGE shoutout to Ozark who was the true 6 that was needed today. He finished out my count-a-rama and name-a-rama while I was still doing my burpees! I owe you!

Also note to self (and others) – shorten your WoR before these challenges. I thought I would have plenty of time but I should have planned a little better and maybe just got right into the workout. Lessen learned.
