Introduction

I teased in the preblast that no coupons would be needed, and that we’d be moving about. Didn’t want to disappoint on that, but did want to pull out a little surprise for the pax so I loaded my car with bricks and got to the AO early to unload. Of course, CVS was there already (he must not sleep). I got the bricks out and lined them up on the ground behind my car.

Not sure what the temperature was, but it was warm and muggy. It was gunna be a sweaty workout.

PAX started rolling in, Preblast said we’d be moving at 5:15 sharp, so at 5:15 disclaimer was read (as one last PAX arrived) and we were off!

Warm-O-Rama

Slow Mosey to the northwest corner of the church lot

10 SSH in cadence

Slow Mosey to the southeast corner of the church lot

10 Arm Circles in cadence, both forward and backward

Slow Mosey to the northeast corner of lot

20 Abe Vigodas in cadence (this created mumblechatter about my hamstrings must be tight… lol, they are).

Slow mosey through the grass behind where the cars are parked.

PAX were instructed to grab a set of pavers (and remain socially distant while doing so)

The Thang

Thang 1: Mosey with some thangs

Ultimately, the destination was the soccer fields, but just grabbing bricks and running isn’t much fun, so we moseyed to the right field corner of the north field, circled up and did 10 merkins with a renegade row on my down with the bricks. A renegade row is a row while in plank position, first one arm, then the other – so it was merkin, renegade row, merkin, renegade row, and so on until we go to 10.

After this, we grabbed our pavers and moseyed – this time punching the pavers up above our head as we moseyed. We stopped just south of the volleyball court and did 10 merkin/renegade rows on my down.

Grabbed our pavers and moseyed (just carrying them) past the pool and tennis court to the soccer fields.

Thang 2: Modified Dora

Pax partnerned up, one pax completed exercise, while other ran the length of the soccer field and back. Flapjack until 1 pair reached exercise number, then moved on to next exercise.

100 Bonnie Blair with pavers in hand (each leg counts as 1/2) – run with pavers
200 LBC no pavers for exercise or run
300 single arm curls (each arm counts as 1/2) – run with pavers.

Following Dora, my arms were tired, so we moseyed around the soccer field so I could lead PAX in the mosey back.

Thang 3: Mosey back to flags

We moseyed back to the flags, again with stops at the volleyball courts to do 10 merkin/renegade rows on my down. Ran punching up to the baseball field, 10 merkin/renegade rows, and then back to the flags, putting pavers behind my car (I was glad no pavers were thrown through the window)

Announcements

NoR – Welcome to Fargo’s dad, Carpe Diem who is visiting for the weekend.

CoT:

Prayers for Tonka’s family dealing with a loss, leaving a wife and child. Praying for peace, comfort and guidance. As always, thank you Father for the strength to get up and make ourselves better. Thank you for the brothers we have to push us, or pick us up to get stronger. May this start to the day be the way that we accelerate throughout the day.

Amen

Naked Man Moleskin

So, it was a treat getting to meet Fargo’s father, Carpe Diem, who at 72 provided some serious inspiration for all of us as he ran around and kicked butt.

Not as much of a treat that we were drenched in sweat after the humid morning. I’m looking forward to some cool fall days ITG. Seems like that should be the reward for the gloom becoming a bit gloomier with no sunrise.

Till next time
