Introduction

DJ Sump Pump asked to see if anyone could cover his Run Club Q because he had some travel plans that came up and I raised my hand. I kind of like running, but I really don’t know much about. My knowledge has been limited to what I’ve learned from fellow PAX and internet reading. Thanks to all of the PAX that have given me tips over the past several months.

This will not be news to anyone that knows me, I like a straight run. Always trying to get in some distance. What I love about F3 is that you can almost always find someone to chase no matter what your pace is. That being said, I put together three routes and added a fourth during warmup for those guys that wanted to get in 5+. Pretty much just running the Waubonsie Creek and the lake.

5+ mile route

I took off pretty hot. I wanted to push myself a bit more today and found a few guys to follow. I was able to hang with a few of them for about two miles. After that, they pulled in front and now I was chasing Nala. I was happy with how it went and I stayed on his heels to keep hi moving. All of the men crushed it that morning. Shout out to Smallcakes who logged over 4 miles for the first time in months. Puddles was also taking care of business.

Naked Man Moleskin

I found a couple of quotes that I like to share with you.

1st – “We are shaped by our thoughts. We become what we think.”

I challenge you to find it within you to think about all of the goals that you are going to crush. Think about how you are going to blast through that next obstacle.

2nd – “Your mind will quite 100 times before your body ever does.”

How many times have you thought that you can’t do it? I know I have. Sometimes I let that thought win. Sometimes I tell myself that I’m going to ignore that thought. I know that I have the strength to overcome these thoughts and I’m doing my best to let the latter win. I was running this week and started to fall back a bit, then I said to myself, “screw that,” and I took off. We all can do it.

3rd – “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

It’s very easy to get trapped in your comfort zone. Well, it’s just easier. I’ve done it. We probably all have at some point in our life. Try something that is just outside of your comfort zone. Maybe it’s your first race, a GrowRuck, and OCR event. I’ve never done some of these. Now is the time to take on something new and begin to grow. It doesn’t have to be fitness related. Maybe it is stepping up and leading in another area of your life. Maybe its a professional organization, volunteering, youth sports or at church. These opportunities are there for the taking. Keep accelerating.
