Naked Man Moleskin

As some of you saw this past week my college football coach passed away.  Thank you for all the kind notes & words. Coach Nick was a crazy & intense man but he had a way of bringing out the best in people through his motivation.  One of his famous sayings was “Mental is to Physical as 4 is to 1” also made famous by legendary coach Bobby Knight.  The meaning of this saying is that your mental toughness is way more important than your physical toughness.  Your mind can overcome your bodies shortcomings if you are mentally tough enough to push through.  In a recent study it was discovered that people have 60,000 thoughts go through their head on a daily basis.  Of those thoughts 40% of them are focused on the future & worrying about things that are out of our control.  Another 30% of our thoughts are focused on the past & dwelling on things that have already happened & we cannot change them.

Only 30% of the time do we focus on the here & now & what we can control.  Stop worrying about the future & stop dwelling on the past but instead focus on the here & now.  Continually work on sharpening your mental toughness to overcome your potential physical limitations.  Aye!

Dear lord thank you for this opportunity to get up in the gloom.  We are humbled for the gift you give us everyday.  Please watch over us & give us the strength to be the leaders in our community you need now more than ever & give healing to those that might not be as fortunate as us.  In your name we pray.  Amen!
