Introduction

Nice morning. Thought it might be ugly given it was 74dgs at 4:15am. But stayed cool. Tough day to get out. But glad I could get going.

Oh.. and not much wit this morning.

Warm-O-Rama

Stretches. We don’t do a lot of stretches. So went through Abe Vigodas, Glutes, lower back and arm/shoulder stretches. Then jumped into Thang 1.

The Thang

Thang 1:

Modified Rolling Thunder:

Laying flat on ground, arms extended above head grabbing coupon lift from the ground straight up overhead then back down. Not sure what those are called. But do 15x. Then Chest presses 30x, roll over to do Irkens 30x, then roll back over and do V-ups15x. Repeat that set 4x total.

Thang 2:

Partner Dora. P1 runs 200 yrd total, p2 does the exercise. When P1 returns, swap, keeping the count going. Rinse and repeat.

150 Merkins

300 merkins

450 squats

Mary: Flutters and E2K’s.

Circle of Trust

Feels like it’s harder to get up in the morning these days. Really desire to stay in the comfortable bed warm sheets, grab another hour or two. I slept over eight hours on Friday night. I haven’t done that in years.

When I wake up now, I’m so tempted to go back to sleep, to avoid what needs to be done for just a little longer. Plenty of things to want to avoid these days.

It’s easy to let life go stagnate. To become a pale version of the joy found in blue skies and warm sun. Jobs become monotonous. Family becomes more work than fun. Schedules look exactly the same as last week. We’re not going anywhere right now, even the small things like eating out aren’t the same.

But I know that if I don’t get up I’m going to miss it. I know that halfway through my day in going to reflect on the sleep I got and still feel tired. And I’m going to wish I had forced myself to get up early and do the hard things. Hell getting up early is hard.

This isn’t about doing hard things for the sake of doing them. It’s the reason you do them. Mark twain said the two most important days in life are the day you’re born and the day you find out why.

Sometimes we may not know our why. It might even change. But Once you do… never let go. Even when life gets muddied, or terrible, or tragic, or… the same.

Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” –Dale Carnegie
