Introduction

Had an unsettling weekend with some family news and then celebrated Father’s Day with another family on our back deck all afternoon and night but Monday morning came and all I could think of was #NeverMissAMonday. So I didn’t and others didn’t either, so we went out and had some fun.

Warm-O-Rama

All were Welcomed and Disclaimed and I met Thumb Drive and Skinner for the first time and I re-introduced myself to Gaylord who I hadn’t seen in many months. We moseyed over behind the freshman campus building for some Jacked Up: 50 SSH’s IC, 40 Seal Jax IC, 30 Plank Jax IC, 20 Smurf Jax (Little Man In The Woods) IC, and 10 more SSH’s IC. All were warmed, some were gassed, time to move.

The Thang

Thang 1: Ascending Curb Crawl

All Pax claimed a parking space and were notified they would be performing Hand-Release Minnesota Mike Tyson’s for awhile. They would start with 1 in their current space. They would then Broad Jump across the lot to the far curb where they would do 2. They would then Lunge Walk back and then do 3. All the way up to 13. This ended up being a pretty good idea.

Thang 2:

We moved over into the adjacent big parking lot where we partnered up for a little Dora action. Pax 1 would begin on 100 Burpees, 200 Hydraulics, and 300 I forget and we never even got to them while Pax 2 ran a lap around the lot. Also turned out to be a good idea.

At 0554 I wanted to sneak in some Mary time so we moseyed over to the Pavilion where we jumped right into HeadShouldersKnees&Toes (while holding People’s Chair against the wall): 25 of those IC then 20 American Hammers IC, then 15 HSK&T’s, then 10 Amer Hammers, and wrapped with 5 HSK&T’s.

Circle of Trust

This weekend was a roller coaster: 9 yds of mulch and 3 yds of topsoil delivered to my driveway Friday afternoon, a call from Mom on Saturday morning telling me my younger brother had been checked into a rehab center the night before by his M, and a beautiful friggin’ Father’s Day Sunday. I knew Q’ing Monday morning would be good for me and my soul; to be around, and work alongside, High Impact Men is good for our souls.

Thought of the day: and it’s so damn cliche it’s weird saying it out loud, but just be kind and loving to one another. Unless we are getting into the deep weeds with someone else on a regular basis we genuinely do not fully grasp what is going on in another person’s life. So let’s just be kind and loving and supportive of each other, especially our family members and our friends. As a wise Pax texted me on Saturday: “that is one of the adult male curses: tons of friends, and no one to talk to…Even people we know fight battles and make choices we can’t comprehend…We all have shit in our lives. Every. Single. One. Of. Us.” If we can know and acknowledge that to be true, then it sure as hell illustrates the need to be kind and loving and supportive as often as we are able.

Love,

Uncle Rico

Naked Man Moleskin

Twilight had to MASH unit by himself over on the playground but I know he doesn’t mail anything in but was good to see him.

Talked about floss wraps as a treatment/maintenance to treat and prevent injuries. Get on that floss wrap boys, it works!
