The Thang

Thang 1 – Parking lot

Thang 2 – Light Poles
Stop at each light pole, alternate 5 Burpees at one, then 10 big boys at the next – start at flags ended at river walk cafe-2 groups (about 10-12 light poles)

Stopped at cafe – copperhead squats x20 IC

Resumed w/ light poles to eagle st. group 2 goes first this time – alternated 10 thrusters/10lbc’s
Stopped at Eagle St.
LBC’s x10 IC
Mozy across bridge Eagle St. bridge, back to Riverwalk Cafe bridge

Dead hang competition, any PAX dropping early instructed to do burpees.   Townie remains dead hang champ!

Thang 3 – Red light green light

From river walk path at base of hill, I’ll start in lead. Leader holds plank, calls out movement, then “green light” and pax move. Options for forward movement should be something like, broad jumps, bear crawls, crab walk, lunges, karaoke, side shuffle, backpedal, sprint, inchworm merkin.  Leader can also call out exercise while in “red light” hold.

Magellan won twice, Bjorn enacted schoolyard rules (if you mess up you have to go back to start), Drago played mind games with us and we got some good movement in.

Brisk mozy back to flags around the tower.

Circle of Trust

Today I tried to lead more with cadence count, not just throwing out some movements and doing OYO.  There are lot of PAX that do it better, so I’m emulating, and trying to improve there so I get better at keep everyone together.  There’s some direction given online for counting cadence, so I tried to use some of that today.

One pearl of wisdom I saw for leading a “cadence count” i saw was….”not knowing the number of reps discourages budgeting of effort; you get used to going as long as you have to.”

Hopefully you had to do some of that today.  I think staying together encourages everyone to get every rep in, so hopefully you did.

Prayers – Parks n Rec and Carmen San diego

If you don’t believe in answered prayers, about a year ago I started lifting up a daughter of my wife’s close teaching friend, Carson.  She was 1-2 at time of diagnosis and is 3 now and this past week rang the “Cancer Free” bell at Lurie’s Children’s in Chicago.  She arrived home to her house in Rosemont to a huge Police and Fire Dept escort, her dad being a firefighter.  Incredible result.  Thank you for your prayers.

Lifting up another family friend this week, wife’s college friend’s first baby, TJ, about a week old needed to have surgery for a stomach issue.  He’s now recovering and expected to do well, but parents still have not been able to bring him home and probably won’t for some time.  So prayers for his continued recovery.
