Introduction

I decided to take the boys West this morning out to 95th street from TC. Most of the run clubs I’ve participated in from this AO have gone toward Whalon Lake, so I thought I’d mix it up a bit. Lots of trails around TC so you really can’t go wrong.

Warm-O-Rama

The crew all arrived around 5:05-5:10 and we decided at 5:14 we were done mumblechattering while standing still in the wind, so let’s get going. By the time disclaimer was read, it was 5:15, totally.

12 Tappy Taps, 20 Goofballs, and some three-step knee pull-in followed by slow buttkickers. Then we’re off!

The Thang

We turned on our headlamps and headed out toward 95th along the bike trail. Sam and I paced the group and everyone found their own speed. We had to make sure not to slip on ice at a few spots along the way. I guess it’s getting to be winter time.

Circle of Trust

  1. Good on you for getting out this morning. By 6:00 a.m., you’ve already done something that 98% of the people in our community either can’t or won’t do. That’s impressive
  2. Being that I’m Qing and the spot where I first came out on July 1, 2020, I thought a bit about taking it back to where it all started. We all have the opportunity to draw on something from our past. Find something positive that you can remember fondly and reflect on that today. Maybe it’s something from your upbringing, maybe it’s F3 (we all have F3!). Enjoy the memory and let it fuel you for today.

Prayers for several intentions were lifted up, and we concluded with an Our Father.

Naked Man Moleskin

Really nice to get out with these men to start the week. TAPS to @@ and Woodwind who downgraded/pulled HCs, hope they both are doing OK. It’s only gonna get colder so I’m glad the 7 of us made it out and got going today. Sam and I logged about 4.75 and I think everyone got at least 3 and a half.

Today was my 9th Q, and I have one more planned this CY. Also my 97th post of the year, and I’ve got 3 dates circled (December 15, 20, and 23 for those who need to know) to get to 100 this year.

I am building out my plans for 2022 and look forward to another 100 posts and upping the goal to 12 Qs. I’m going to be tackling a post-grad certificate program at Michigan State (online) Jan-June so I am working to be very intentional about how I break out my annual goal monthly. I only expect to post 26 times in the first 6 months of the year, and fully expect to post 74 times in the back half of the year. This is intentional and I am going into a very busy season of my life with eyes wide open to what’s in front of me. There are going to be obstacles I don’t yet know about that I’ll need to navigate, and having a realistic plan that allows for physical, spiritual, and intellectual growth is there, as well as a healthy dose of good old family time with my awesome M & 2.0s. So while I won’t SYITG as much over the next several months, I’ll be doing what I need to do, and God willing I’ll get a swim in weekly and also make it out every week or so at 5:15 for a break from what I’ll be doing most days, hitting the books for my course. I don’t know what curveballs may be thrown my way, but if all goes as planned, I can get the lion’s share of my physical goals knocked out in the July-December months. I’m HCed for Ragnar in October and ready to kick 2022 in the nuts.
