Introduction
A little nervous about this, as my knee still isnt 100% back . . . but I need to try it out sometime. What better way to test it then a heavy ruck through snow covered fields? Missing a week to heal the three burst bursa sacs in my knee suuuuucks. You dont realize how quickly you can lose endurance when you arent rucking/running.
No scouting for this one. No need to check conditions, as we will be going into as much heavy snow as we can.

Rucks on, head south.
Pick up a rapid pace cross a snow covered field to the south football goal post (not at the high school. There is a reinforced field goal post in the middle of nowhere thats is perfect for pull ups)
Rucks off . . . each PAX does 5 pullups, with a spotter if needed. No matter what, each PAX has to get 5 pullups.
Rucks on . . back across a snow covered field between the baseball fields.
Before “Dorns dunes”, turn left across deep snow all the way until the skate park fence. Go around the scoreboard sign there, then back to Dorns Dunes.
Up Dorns Dunes to the bridge.
Space out, and lean into the bridge for standing carolina dry docks. 25 in cadence
Back to snow covered trail . . ruck where the trail “should” be across the street and to the north stone bridge by the ponds. Cross bridge.
Go around the east side of the Iron Lion hill (the hill is pure ice, so we avoided it for safety reasons)
Down the east side to the bridge over the creek. Cross bridge and take the path going left.
This was surprisingly plowed . . . but icy. Be careful.
Take the path to its end by the park district vehicle storage area north of Lisle High School.
Hike through deep snow and a big snow pile to the cleared north Lisle High School parking lot.
Head to Lisle HS football field. Go under each field goal post. Snow was deeper, and getting harder.
Push through, then back to flags.
Mary until 6 (only 40 LBCs)
Circle of Trust
CoT was about positivity. There has been a lot of negativity in the world lately with a pandemic and politics. Instead of reacting to things that we cannot control in a negative fashion, I challenge everyone to be positive instead. Try to be more like Mr. Nice Guy! We cannot control outside forces, but we can control our reaction to them. To lets spread some cheer and positive vibes in our little spheres of influence today. Reach out to a PAX that you havent seen in awhile and spread some positive vibes to them. See why they arent ITG right now, and see if we can help them to do so.

One of the things I love about rucking is the variety and how it is a great equalizer. You can adjust the weight you carry to make it more challenging. I personally have been trying to carry as much weight as I have lost as a reminder of how far I have come, and how I never want to go back to that place again. So I’m currently carrying 50 pounds for every ruck I do . . . and hoping to increase that to 60 by the end of 75 hard.
Dorn . . . I helping to push you man. You stepped up BIG TIME and put down the 27 ish pound vest you had and carried the 45 pounder I had for you like a BOSS. Clydesdales unite!!!
Chazz . . I hope you get into rucking. Its good stuff.
Radio Flyer . . good to see you at the Lion my friend. Great job!
To all my fellow Iron Lion regulars . . . thank you for joining me today. Rucking in deep snow is not easy, and it taxes your endurance and leg strength. I wasnt sure how many would want to “get wet” in the snow today, and I am humbled that y’all joined me. I think we went close to two miles? (anyone have stravka? I didnt start mine. Doh)
