Introduction
Its good to be back . . . after two weeks of having to shut down and some work travel it felt great to Q again.
I had an exercise planned for awhile that can only be done in deep snow . . and this was PERFECT for it. No dry pavement for this crew . . . all deep snow, all the time.
Warm-O-Rama
The black diamond guys were running in endless circles, so we WALKED with coupons to the High School parking lot for warm ups.
Because we are just that damn considerate.
15 SSH
10 Abe vigodas
arm circles forward and backward
Lets get snowy . . . .
The Thang
5 pull ups per PAX (with spotter if needed) . . . no excuses, everyone does 5 pull ups.
- So I have been doing these in my Qs since the beginning of the year. You can already see guys that could do 1 or 2 unassisted knocking out 4-5 now. It almost brought a tear to my eye . . .
BRAVEHEARTS
- Line up on the goal line with a partner. First partner chest press/throws his coupon as far as he can, then the partner runs up to where it landed and chest press/throws his coupon as far as he can go. Leapfrog style for 100 yards.
- “The english dont let us train with weapons . . . so we train with stones”
- Al Gore for the 6
5 more pullups (with spotter if needed)
NEW EXERCISE . . . MOHICANS
- Just like in the movie “The Last of the Mohicans” (but they used Tomahawks), you hold your coupon behind your head with two hands, then explosively throw it forward for distance like a Tomahawk/axe.
- Just like Bravehearts, this is with your partner running up to where your coupon landed, then throwing his.
- Leapfrog style for 100 yards
Back to football goal post.
Position like you are doing a thruster, but at the top throw your coupon OVER the crossbar. You arent done until it clears.
- 5 reps per Pax
BRAVEHEARTS again . . 100 yards
5 pull ups
MOHICANS again . . . 100 yards
back to goal posts.
- With your BACK to the goal posts, swing your coupon between your legs, then throw it behind you and OVER the crossbar.
- 5 reps per PAX . . . we got through 4 before we hit 6AM
Circle of Trust
Today was about character. “Character is doing the right thing, even when no one else is watching”. In the context of F3 to me that means showing up ITG. That means not cheating your form, or your reps because you are tired. Im not talking about if you are injured . . but not cheating yourself of a perfect rep just because you are gassed. Having the internal fortitude to keep doing it right . . . even if other PAX arent watching. Now keep showing that character in your everyday life. At your job today, with your family, with your friends. Because you never know who COULD be watching.
Our Father
Naked Man Moleskin
Oh . . . the mumblechatter this morning . . .
Sputnik- Dude. . . please done every try to catch your coupon again if it doesnt clear the crossbar right away. I was worried we would have to ask if a PAX was a dentist if it smacked you in the face.
Sulley- Holy freaking moley . . . not only are you killing it at pull ups, but you and Mr Belding were destroying everyone on the bravehearts and mohicans!!
Sun Devil- Deceptively one of the strongest guys today throwing the coupon over the crossbars . . . NICE!!!
Chazz- I appreciate you keeping Glass Joe in line. Your effort was inspiring to him, and I feel like he could really learn a thing or two about grit from you today as you shouldered the burden of your team. Your Name-O-Rama was absolutely epic today.
Mr, Belding- As described by goldberg at coffeteeria . . . that boy is “country strong”. You and Sulley were putting on a clinic with Mohicans and Bravehearts.
Glass Joe- I hope you are inspired by Chazz. He put you on his back today and carried you across the finish line. (I AM KIDDING). Rest up that lower back my friend. Good to have you back.
Mellencamp- Way to not give up during the coupn throws over the goal posts! Its definitely harder for those that arent seven feet tall like Sulley . . . but you nailed it like a boss!!
Mr. Nice Guy- I was watching you on the pull ups, as you are destroying them. Seriously an inspiration to us that have further to go.
Bootlegger- Ok . . . Im sorry I called you “buttlicker”. I have no idea where that came from . . but it was 100% not intentional. Great freaking job today!!!
Fredo- My man!! Even with a shoulder injury . . you saying F IT and still doing some of the exercises was the definition of GRIT! Way to push through brother!!!!
Rain Man- My consigliere, site Q and partner. I dont get to post with you enough my friend. Excellent job as always!
