Introduction

I may have spent too much time in the exicon on this one, but I found some gems, and we did a spin-off of a classic that I guarantee had all of @TPS Report’s favorite things (i.e. thrusters and–albeit deconstructed–burpees). You’ll need your coupon, but don’t worry we won’t be doing get-ups. Was it gloriously terrible?  Probably depends on how much you like lunges.

Warm-O-Rama

  • Abe Vigodas IC x15
  • Tappy Taps IC x15
  • Arm circles IC x10 forward and back
  • Inch worms 5x OYO (touch your toes, walk your hands out to plank and back is 1)

The Thang

Thang1

If you can deconstruct a burpee, why not blockees! Besides, how often do you get to go from Thrusters to Goblet squats again and again?

Deconstructed Blockees from 10 down to 1

  • Goblet Squats
  • Leg thrusts on coupon
  • Erkins
  • Leg thrusts on coupon
  • Coupon swings
  • Thrusters

Thang 2 – 100’s

  • Part 1
    • 25 Curls for the Girls,
    • 25 Walking Lunges, (Left + Right = 1)
    • 25 Squats,
    • 25 Walking Lunges back to your coupon,
  • Part 2
    • 25 Overhead Press,
    • 25 Walking Lunges,
    • 25 Mountain Climbers,
    • 25 Walking Lunges back.

Thang 3 (bonus thang)

Mary:

~5 minutes straight of Warhammer (1 WWI situp, 4 American Hammers on repeat)

Circle of Trust

“Do what you can, with what you’ve got, where you are.”
Squire Bill Widener of Widener’s Valley, Virginia
Theodore Roosevelt:  An Autobiography
chapter IX

I’ve had a lot running through my head these last couple months and especially this last week of so, and I keep coming back to this one way or another.

Do what you can and let the rest go. If you can’t do anything about it, it’s a condition and a waste of energy. On the other hand Do something and you’ll be surprised by what you can do if you keep at it.

Use what you have to hand. Don’t wait on some future where you’ll be better prepared, smarter, wealthier and better looking. If you’re just waiting around none of those things is going to happen anyway.

Do it where you are. You’re not going to have much of an impact somewhere you are not. The people and things you can do the most about are right there around you right now. Some anonymous stranger on the Internet is generally not within your circle of influence, don’t waste your energy there. Have real and difficult conversations with the people around you, the people you care about. Do hard and difficult things to make the community you live in better and stronger.

Go out today and be the HIMs I know you all can be.

Naked Man Moleskin

I wanna call out Parks and Rec for going beast mode and doing the double tap beatdown and run club this morning.

Also I’m a little surprised we made it to thang 3, so great job everyone powering through the first two thangs.

Mary was an experiment since I did Captain Thor last time with ascending reps of situps and hammers, and this time we did the same rep scheme over and over with time enough to get about the same number of total reps. I’m inclined to say Captain Thor sucked more, but it may be a difference in kind and not quantity. Further beatdowns/experiments are clearly needed.
