Circle of Trust

Thanked the PAX for coming out and for stepping out of their comfort zones. “You don’t know who you are until you find out who you are.” I learned who I was during my first obstacle course race.

The genesis of Frontline OCR was inspired by obstacle course racing, but more importantly, we wanted to create an event that honored the hardships that our Frontline personnel experience every single day.

My biggest thank you goes out to Amanda Sullivan. Were it not for her tragedy and struggle, I would never have stepped out of my comfort zone. I probably would have told myself, “I’m not ready for that. I can’t do that. That looks hard”, etc, etc. We have all heard that, just like the guys who say “they have to get in shape so they can get in shape.” What BS. (this is the exact interview that lit me on fire)

I first met Amanda while watching a program on television. After hearing her story during the interview, I thought to myself, if she can do it, being totally disabled, there’s no reason why I, being able bodied, can’t get out and do it. I was literally in tears and thanked God for allowing me to be healthy and fit. So I searched the internet and signed up for my first OCR and man was I humbled. I learned a lot about myself on the course and vowed that I would never be underprepared to take action, of any type, again. So true to my words, I trained and trained to succeed. Failures along the way occurred, but we only learn to succeed through our failures. Writing this, I did get a little teary, not gonna lie.

So I say to you PAX, get out on May 29th and toe the Frontline. Test yourselves, get out of your comfort zones, find out who you are and what you are capable of accomplishing during the most adverse conditions or what you are incapable of doing. We train everyday, so let’s put ourselves to the test. Where and how can we improve? Do you know who you are? Just remember, unlike me in my first OCR, you will not be alone. You will be surrounded by the PAX you have learned to trust ITG.

COT was concluded by Thanking God for all we have and the courage and strength to get after it every day.
