Introduction

It finally came. Today. VQ. I couldn’t wait to share my story with everyone, sleep wasn’t a concern. Woke up at 3:10 and couldn’t get dressed fast enough. Made it to the park around 420ish and headed up the hill to see if this will work. Shovel barely went into the ground but a little convincing did the trick. There it was, a symbol, a light, and hope for the future, Glory stood tall but looked a little different this time. She represented, the opposite of surrender but this we will defend. Made it down and started the music, set up the stations and saw my FNG show up next. The normal extra creditors were out and about and made it back in time as all the others started arriving. Finally, showtime. I couldn’t be happier and excited. It was time for our rendezvous with destiny.

Circle of Trust

May 3rd was a day I have been looking forward to for a long time. It has been 3 years since I knew I needed to get hip replacement. I tried my hardest to stretch out time but fear struck my heart everyday knowing I couldn’t protect my kids. I worked hard while my hip deteriorated over time and finally the day came for a new life. A new life, a new love, a new dedication to happiness. God gave me the strength  while in the waiting room, to do it. To believe again, to fight again. I decided to join the Naperville Triatholon and prove every system, every statistic, every person that said…hell naw, no way, too soon,  your crazy, you can’t do it…keep saying I won’t. Say I won’t.  The next 3 months, was Christmas morning everyday. Yes I was healing from hip surgery but I was in no pain. None at all. Every 3:30 wake up before work to go swim, every 5 miles I rode during lunch and all the miles my daughters and I rode payed off. August 1, 2021 came and it was a bittersweet moment for me. It was over, I finished the tri in unbelievable amount of pain but it was done. This moment forever changed my life, this year and now this new family. F3 shows nobody has everything, yes you could be fit and not need the fitness or you might have a lot friends and companions and you could be a religious master and be solid at faith but not one of us has it all and that’s what makes F3, F3. A chance for myself to challenge my physical nature but more importantly opened me out of my box and expand me to new levels of friendship.

To my Dad, your voice was always been with me. Always in my head, pushing me. But telling your not alone, Martin I know u can do this. And I felt it. For that, thank you. Many times I did not want to go workout but God showed me, told me and had random people I didn’t know tell me, your a warrior, your meant for great things. That voice led me here.

Thank you everyone, for more then you will ever know. Black Panther brothers, your support and continue grace has brought light into my life. Thank you. So men to 2022, I challenge you today, to Say I Won’t, to fight and bless those with your story bcuz trust me, someone is ready and needs to hear it. Thank you
