Circle of Trust

Before CoT each PAX was asked to look another PAX in the eye and tell them they did a good job today.

“Each man is good in His sight. It is not necessary for eagles to be crows.” -Chief Sitting Bull

I share this quote today as it’s June 25th which is the anniversary of the Battle of Little Big Horn in 1876. AKA Custer’s last stand.

This was a brutal battle that basically destroyed all of Custer’s army and was a major victory for the tribes defending their land, and their belief in their rights.

Think about what this quote might mean to you…what do you think?

To me, there is something about what we see and how we respond to what we see that creates who we are.

See weeks before the Battle of Little Big Horn, Sitting Bull had a vision come to him. And what he saw in that vision was victory. He shared this with his fellow warriors. If you know anything about the Law of Attraction, you can understand the level of confidence Sitting Bull and his warriors had going into that battle…having seen Victory in their eyes already.

This gave them a feeling to act upon and they listened to it. Custer had arrogance in his which blinded his vison completely.

As leaders, we’re often exposed to difficult situations and we have to make decisions. For me, this quote leans on following what we see in these difficult moments especially…going with our gut feeling in a humble and communal way vs. an arrogant or over confident way.

Think about that the next time you have a tough decision ahead of you. Know you are all High Impact Men circling with me here today…looking each other in the eye…you are all Eagles…that’s a leader in my book…and it’s not necessary to be a Crow.

Prayers.
