The Thang

THANG 1: Indian Run the Long Way

PAX had an Indian Run around the hill to the other side of the park where the football fields were.  Solid pace with Naperville in one line and Crossroads in the other.  During the run we stopped one time to have everyone do 10 burpees, just cause.

THANG 2: Time to Accelerate

PAX partnered up and raced/ pushed each other during the THANG. One HIM from Naperville and one from Crossroads.  HIM started at the goal line.

  • 5 No Surrenders at the goal line, PAX then ran to the 20 yd line, 5 hand release merkins at the 20 and then ran back.
  • 10 No Surrenders at the goal line, PAX then ran to the 40 yd line, 10 hand release merkins at the 40 and then ran back.
  • 15 No Surrenders at the goal line, PAX then ran to the 60 yd line, 15 hand release merkins at the 60 and then ran back.

  • 25 Bonnie Blairs at the goal line, PAX then ran to the 100 yd line, 25 Big Boy Get Ups at the 100 and then ran back.

THANG 4: AYG Sprints

PAX had to race their partner during AYG sprints.  Winners did less and losers did more.  If winners were supportive, they could have suffered doing the same number of reps as the losers.

Exercises were:

5 Burpees, 10 Burpees

15 No Surrenders, 20 No Surrenders

20 Hand Release Merkins, 25 Hand Release Merkins

25 Big Boy Get Ups, 30 Big Boy Get Ups

**Side Note: Skinner Blew a Hammy racing me.  I felt really bad and hope he never races me again!  Texted him today and I think he will be ok.  Hopefully it will be a quick recovery and he will be back out in the Gloom in no time.

THANG 5: Indian Run Race the Long Way

We had to get back somehow. PAX had an Indian Run Race around the hill to the other side of the park where the flags were.  No Burpees, just racing!

Naked Man Moleskin

MOLESKIN:

The Great Man Theory in part by Thomas Carlyle. This school of thought espouses that great leaders are born, not made. Leaders are born with the attributes necessary to set them apart from those around them and that these traits enable them to assume roles of authority and power. Great leaders are heroes that accomplish great feats against the odds on behalf of followers.  These individuals come into the world possessing certain characteristics and traits not found in all people. These abilities enable them to lead while shaping the very pages of history. Under this theory, prominent leaders throughout the course of history were born to lead and deserved to do so as a result of their natural abilities and talents.

The Great Man Theory centers on two main assumptions:

  • Great leaders are born possessing certain traits that enable them to rise and lead.
  • Great leaders can arise when the need for them is great.

I believe in all of this except for leaders being born.  Yes that is entirely possible, but F3 helps build men into leaders.  I have had the pleasure of being led by many of you and know that if it wasn’t for F3, you wouldn’t be leading.  Thank you for your leadership and your continued willingness to lead.

We are strong, We grow, We build, We succeed! Here’s to the men of F3 Naperville and F3 Crossroads!

Did I do that?!

Yes, yes I did!

-Urkel
