Introduction

Thursdays at TC are for Rucking or Biking.  Today was a Ruck day, training for the Chad 1,000 on Veterans Day. Chachki threw out a possible bike Q but ended up joining the Ruckers when no one else took the bait.

A beautiful mid 50’s fall morning greeted 11 HIMs on arrival.  Backdraft and Columbus took an EC ruck and Moms Group showed up in full force for his V Site Q.  0515 hit and we began.

Warm-O-Rama

Shed the rucks/weighted vests and lined up.

Mosey to the edge of the parking lot & back. Upon return, walking knee pulls, quad stretches, side lunges & backwards jogging to warm up the lungs and lower body. Threw the weight back on and headed to the pavilion.

The Thang

Chad 1,000 training.  Step ups on the benches with a ruck or weighted vest. Backdraft kept count for the group.

Round 1: 100 reps. Kept the weight on and did 5 merkins to let the legs rest.

Rounds 2-9: 50 reps each. After each set of 50 step ups, a different PAX called cadence on a rotation of upper body focused exercise. The weight was removed from the body and used for Rows, Chest presses, curls, and dips.

After 500 reps completed, cool down ruck on the loop around the baseball fields.

5 minutes at the end dedicated to stretching (channeling our inner Patchouli).

Circle of Trust

Prayers for Columbus’ MIL. Turner and Family & Catheter and family. And all those unspoken.

CoT: Nothing flashy about the Chad 1,000.  Today was a mini burner but needed to be done before the event. Putting in the work knowing we all have struggles and making the most of the day was our theme.

Prayers for those spoken and unspoken. Prayers of thanksgiving for allowing us the ability and opportunity to come put in the work together.

Naked Man Moleskin

Thank you to all that came out for this simple Q.

It turned into a dance party when the pavilion lights went out at 0531.  Huskie knew this would happen, but the Q apparently needs to be more attentive to details…

TAPS for Chachki, who rolled his ankle on the cool down ruck (damn acorn).

T Claps to Backdraft for keeping the count for us so the rest of us could mumblechatter.

Final huge T Claps to Moms Group, who began his Glorious Reign as Thursday Site Q at TC!
