(~5min)

Thang 2:  Modified Glass Joe Q

Circle up with coupons at 50 yard line.  Q leads PAX in exercises.  30 curls, 20 overhead press, 10 coupon swings.

Run around field to 50 yard line on opposite side of field.  Circle up. Q leads PAX in exercises.  10 burpees, 15 merkins, 20 monkey humpers.

Rinse repeat until Q says stop.

Circle of Trust

Daily reminder that you are going to die.  Being reminded of mortality makes people more productive and appreciative.

The Glass is Already Broken.  ““You see this goblet?” asks master. “For me this glass is already broken. I enjoy it; I drink out of it. It holds my water admirably, sometimes even reflecting the sun in beautiful patterns. If I should tap it, it has a lovely ring to it. But when I put this glass on the shelf and the wind knocks it over or my elbow brushes it off the table and it falls to the ground and shatters, I say, ‘Of course.’ When I understand that the glass is already broken, every moment with it is precious.”

In my mind I say, “Shit is already fucked.”  For me this is a liberating concept.  If shit is already fucked then there are no excuses to not go out and do things your way.  Be yourself, get after it and accomplish whatever you want.  This is NOT “Time is a flat circle.”  The glass is already broken is an optimistic take on life, whereas “TIAFC” is more pessimistic that tries to explain that we are stuck in our suffering and misery, doomed to repeat our mistakes forever.

SO, YOU ARE GOING TO DIE AND SHIT IS ALREADY FUCKED.  ENJOY YOUR DAY!

Naked Man Moleskin

I don’t believe in the importance of birthdays or anniversaries, but F3 as taught me that these celebrations are not about the person, but the people around them that support them. People want to see others succeed (another year alive, another year married, another year getting right). So, I Qed for my manniversary. In my pre-blast I wanted to highlight people that provided the support that made it possible. Goldberg for getting me out the first post, Mr. Nice Guy for his exhortation, BabyHands for pointing out how far we fall before deciding to get right and for his different brand of exhortation, and Glass Joe for leading my first workout and for taking the time after coffee to talk to me individually and showing how much each member of F3 cares personally about new guys.
I barely showed up on time and was a bit nervous, so my heart was already pumping hard before the workout began. I was getting gased pretty early in the workout and was feeling light headed and had a hard time finishing reps and calling cadence, but I made it through and I think it went well.
We live in a nation and region of luxury and waste. It is easy to become complacent with your health and easy to withdraw from the community, but still live (or survive). F3 has shown me the incredible importance of diet, sleep, exercise, and relationships with each other and the community you live in. It makes me sad looking at others in my neighborhood that are content with letting life float by and not taking an acitve role in your life, your family, or your neighbors.
