Introduction

I don’t think I have Q’d on a Monday at Iron Lion since the Black Ops days.  Maybe I have but it’s a nice story.  Time to shake off a Q from the winter and get this week started.  No coupons needed because when you discover that you have have a  femoral hernia after you discover that you passed a kidney stone, you have to modify as needed.  HC in the thread.

The Scene:  It was a glorious morning.  70’s, cool breeze, and little to no bugs.  I arrived a little before 5 to chalk up the pavilion on the far side of the hill.  Headed over to the usual spot.  Planted the flags.  Cued up the music (80’s rock hits) and we were ready to go!

Naked Man Moleskin

Last week was a very strange week.  It started off with one of my worst runs in recent memory.  Then Faceplant’s COT about the feather, the brick and the dump truck felt like he was speaking right to me.  Next was my trip to urgent care on Friday.  It reminded me that I need to stop trying to be somebody else and to find the path that is right for me.  This past F3 year (last September) I had set a goal to keep up with Handy Manny.  Then I got Covid in October.  That was out.  Once I recovered, I thought ok then I will try and stay on his heels as much as possible.  Keep chasing as Baby Hands would say.  This past week tells me that maybe I’m chasing the wrong bunny.  Now I’m not so sure who or what I should be chasing.  I’m adrift with no direction and no paddles.

Life has a way of reminding you of not only your limitations but also of your blessings.  I am blessed with a caring and supportive family.  I am blessed by F3 and those that said prayers or reached out to make sure I was ok.  I have a lot to be grateful for.  I know this.  But my compass continues to spin out of control.  I need to figure out how to be the best “me” and to stop comparing myself to those around me.  I never used to care, but lately all I seem to do is compare myself to others instead of figuring out what is best for me and those around me.

Let us pray.  Lord, thank you for getting me through last week so that I may enjoy this coming vacation week with my family.  Thank you for bringing these men out in support of my efforts to make us better physically.  Please help us each to find our own path to keep moving forward.  Amen.

Peace,

Cousin Eddie
