The Thang

We make it to the base of the bridge. As pax start to gather in I begin to explain the route.

We will start by blessing the bridge, one lap then back to the base. After you lap the bridge we will stay on the trail heading south into town. Once the trail dead ends right behind Waubonsee College we will turn around and lap the bridge then repeat. One lap is around 1.2 miles and is a closed circuit no street crossings so we keep everyone in sight.

We’re off the bridge starts to fill. The mumble chatter starts to ring as we make our way through the first lap. Men make it to the trail and head into town. Straight forward route and guys begin run OYO. The miles start to rack up! Beautiful sounds of the river rushing as we make our was through downtown. Lap after lap guys motivate each other as we either pass or get passed lol. Glad to see a lot of the OG’s come keep us on check , respect respect take over! I was shooting for a recovery run myself but others had their own mission. Snap Crackle Pop killing it back to back RC’s at La Luz as he leads from the front. Initec taking souls with a 40# vest as he strolls along as well. Great effort overall by all men. 5:57ish hits and I yell to head back to the flags.

We make it to the flags then for mary I chose to do a cool down walk in the parking lot.

6 o’clock hits RECOVER RECOVER!

Circle of Trust

Disruption! As we are all familiar this is part of life.

Yesterday we had a long run planned 16 miles with the crew. Initially I thought f#ck this is going to suck , do I really want to run? Disruption is kicking in pretty good right now as I want to stay in bed on a Sunday morning. As we start to take off I’m thinking of how much I don’t want to run ruining my thoughts and motivation for the run. The storm in my head is beginning to get rowdy lol The miles will be ran regardless of my feelings. So then I start to think rather then weather the storm, my 16 miles that will not run themselves let me change what I can control. MY THOUGHTS. I start to think well this isn’t too bad we’re already 5-6 miles in and the sun is shining. My feelings changed before I knew it the cold didn’t bother me , the next ten miles didn’t seem that far. So rather then try to change the storm simply try to remain calm in that storm. Stay comfortable in uncomfortable situations. Don’t give up on your happiness because of circumstances! Learn to dance in the rain and wish the water is cold!

Prayer for recent losses and recovery for pax.

Naked Man Moleskin

Shout out to the respect club this morning. Again I wish I can be that hard when I reach that age lol

Glad to see many men get back in the game! Clearcoat mentioned it was his first run in a few weeks, Start Up getting after it and Chunky Monkey as well.

Mumble chatter was awesome at cafeteria as Snap crackle pop schooled us on actual recovery. Proper recovery is just as important as this is when you actually get stronger. Great insight as he works with the human body on a daily bases. He mentioned it’s viewing it with a different perspective. We beat ourselves up often and longevity will require proper recovery.

And as always thanks to Kapusta for covering the 6 as he continues to accelerate in all aspects. We have a good crew Mondays at La Luz , stop on by next week!
