Introduction

I hustled over from Tap #1 at the Outpost but got stuck behind some mulch truck so minimal time to set up. I raced over the the baseball diamonds to scribble out the plan in chalk then hustled back to the flags as the PAX arrived. Major T-Claps to Thomas the Tank & Handy Manny for joining me for the Double Tap. Also huge shout out to Sosa for a 6-PK in his first week.  Pi got the boys in order & we got after it. After warm-a-rama we headed to the ball fields for some Billy Madison & in classic Enron style he slid in right as we got going on round #1 (but special shout out to Enron for buying me coffee today).

CoT:

As we approach this special weekend for many of us I thought it was important to expand on the meaning of Fathers Day b/c it is just not about your blood relatives.  If you look up Father in Webster’s dictionary it can be defined as a verb:

  1. To accept responsibility for
    1. Many of you may have heard me talk about the fact the fact I have lost my Father (actually 25 years this June 30th) through those impressionable years of my life there were several male mentors (friends, coaches, etc.) that accepted responsibility for me & guided me. This weekend we should be thankful & reach out to those people that maybe were not Fathers to us but Father figures who helped mold us.
  2. To be the founder, author, or producer of
    1. This is what I would call “pay it forward”. We all have the opportunity as male Father figures to be that author or producer of some young individuals life weather that is blood or not blood.  I encourage you to reach out to those that may need a Father figure & be that light for them.

Dear lord, the Great FATHER, thank you for this opportunity to wake up early in the gloom & experience your greatness.  We are humbled for the opportunity you give us every day to be in your glory & serve you as leaders & FATHER figures in our communities.  Watch over those in our spoken prayers as well as those that are in our hearts that are not as fortunate as many of us & give them healing & strength in their struggles.  In your name we pray.  Amen!
