Circle of Trust

I was driving my 2.0 to his first fall baseball practice this past Tuesday. It was with a new coach and he didn’t know anyone on his team so I stressed on the drive to the practice that he needed to bring his “A” game because first impressions are really important. He’s also running cross country and had finished up that practice only about 2 hours earlier. He gave me all the excuses about being tired and why the best he could do was a “C” effort. I kept trying to pump him up, but felt like he wasn’t listening. I stayed to watch the practice and it was one of the best practices of his that I’ve watched! When we got back to the car I told him that he did a really good job. His response…”You told me I had to make a good first impression.” The takeaway from this story is that you always need to set a good example and push when necessary, whether it’s with your 2.0’s or co-workers because you never know when someone is actually listening and watching the example you’re setting.

Thanks to Cousin Eddie for having my 6. Thanks to the PAX for coming out this morning. It was early and we’re back in the gloom as fall is just around the corner. Thanks to Nacho Libre for bringing the mumblechatter, for those of you that weren’t on Team 2, he had his “A” game on today.

And thanks to my M and 2.0’s for helping me with the setup last night.

A couple takeaways for myself…I still have too many Thangs planned. We never got to Thang 3 today. I need to do a better job on that part of my Q’s. Also, I need to get a good playlist set up for when we do stationary coupon work. I didn’t need it today because we didn’t get to Thang 3 and Nacho had me covered anyway, but still I can be better prepared.
