Introduction

:wolf: :wolf: PreBlast Early OP… Citadel… Two Wolves!!! 5:15-6:00am :wolf: :wolf:
If you didn’t know, now you do! Tomorrow will be the inaugural Saturday at Two Wolves beatdown! Join me and  as we explore the AO a bit and participate in some team driven competitions. Never been out to Two Wolves? What better time than now? Plenty of great options after our beatdown to get your double tap in…but it all starts here.

HC in the thread and indicate if you are “Team EOP”, “Team Citadel” or “Undecided”. We will even up the teams after WoR then get after it. :fire: Lets Go @channel!! :fire:

I arrived to the AO just before 5am. I left home a little earlier than usual as I knew I needed some time to prep. I moseyed around the AO setting up cones for Thangs 2 and 3. I then ran up the hill to test the conditions and then wrote down the exercises for Thang 1. Ran back to the car where a ton of PAX were gathering. That time between 5 and 5:15 FLEW by! Got the music ready and got into the circle. Gave the disclaimer and recited the 5 core principals. Ready to go.

IT SHOULD BE NOTED – while I was setting up the cones, Shirley Temple and Snoop-a-Loop were running in carrying the OP / American Flag. The ran over from The Outpost. A true passing of the guard from one AO to another. Epic.

Smurf Motivators From 4

Instructed PAX to break up into the two teams. OP v CIT. The teams were set:

Team OP-

  • Bean Counter (Captain)
  • Shirley Temple
  • Snoop-a-Loop
  • Bronco
  • One Eye Willy
  • Woodwind
  • AlexMorgan
  • Elway
  • Ken Doll
  • Trailer Park

Team Citadel –

  • Squeaky Clean (Captain)
  • CVS
  • Twilight
  • Tonka
  • Nala
  • Wedding Planner
  • Handy Manny
  • Toady
  • Start-Up
  • Five Hole
  • Judge Smails

Citadel had one more PAX so I let Squeaky Clean know that for all competitions, they needed to just have a set of PAX pair up so that there would still be 10 ‘participants’. In other words, PAX 11 would just shadow PAX 10’s movement so that they didn’t have an unfair disadvantage.

I told PAX that I came across an interesting meme…notice I did not say ‘quote’ as I feel there is a strong difference between those two things HA! Anyways:

“I’d like to think I lead a complex, emotional life but then the sun comes out and I am happy. I am functionally no different from a big leaf.”

This made me laugh because I felt I really could relate to it. I love when the sun comes out, when the weather is nice, especially after a long winter stretch. As complex and complicated as I may think that I am, sometimes it is really just the little things like a sunny day that can turn things around. I asked PAX to think about some of the little things that probably make the biggest differences in their days. Then I told them to think about how maybe some of these little things can be what makes someone else’s day great. Be the reason for the little things. You never know what small action will make the difference. Be someone’s “sunshine” today.

I also urged PAX to take advantage of the great weather that is forecasted today. High 60’s! Grab your kids … your M … a friend … and get outside. Get the fresh air and have some fun!

Naked Man Moleskin

For the first time in a long time, I was nervous before the Q. I woke up a few times in the middle of the night and each time I was hoping it was time to wake up. Nervous and excited. There was definitely a convergence vibe in the air. Thanks to all the PAX for showing out and giving max effort. The competition really seems to drive PAX to the next level. It was awesome. Team OP started off strong with the Hill Race. I think we won by a hill length. Team Citadel bounce back on the tennis courts (no pun intended). They won that race by about one court length. This set up the show down for the rebel run. It was neck and neck till the very end. Teams finished the run at virtually the same time and it came down to the burpees. Team Citadel finished somewhere around 5 seconds before Team OP! It was close…but they walked away victorious…while Team OP had to carry all 21 coupons back to the flags for Mary.

I look forward to seeing these two groups posting together more frequently during the future Saturday Morning Two Wolves beatdowns!

I did end up bringing my 2.0’s and M back to Two Wolves around 3pm. We were there for about an hour and a half and the kids loved it. My oldest even ran up the hill a few times and I got to show him all the exercises that were written down up on top of the hill. We then walked down the side path of the hill over to the obstacle course. Pretty cool to share some of the stories and exercises that we do with him…even if he doesn’t truly care or understand yet! I ran into Bronco while I was there too which was cool. He was there with his four 2.0’s and M. I ended up talking to One Eye Willy afterwards on Slack and he said he had been there about 30 minutes before I was. Cool to hear that some of the guys took me up on the suggestion. What a great day!

It was an honor leading the very first Saturday morning 5:15 Two Wolves beatdown! – BC
